Damn so do I. I also just found out how he did it. Blew his head off with his dad's shotgun after an arguement with his mom. I can't take this..

My niece recently committed suicide. She was 24. She hung herself. Her mother (my sister) found her the next morning. Everyone was totally taken back by it. There was no note.

My heart goes out to parents and family of this young man. This is something that they will question for the rest of their lives. What could they have done only if...

My sister expressed what a huge support it was for her to see all of Andreas friends come together and do little things that were dedicated to her memory. They put together photo collages, made t-shirts with her picture on it and wore them to the funeral, made butterflies and hung them throughout the house because Andrea loved them, etc.

I suppose I am saying to let this boys family know how much he was loved by his friends. That love will help them get thru this.

I can't see how there could ever be an issue in someone's life that is so bad that this is their only out. Obviously a lot of people who do commit suicide have mental problems that can sometimes physically cause them to be so depressed. It just makes me so sad to hear about things like this. :(

My sympathies not only to the OP, but all those who have suffered a similar loss.

It was so fvcked up. They [his family] were there when it happened. They heard the gunshot, but none of them wanted to go down to see what it was because they knew Dylan was down there and he didn't respond when they called down. His mom was the first to go down and see. Goddamn..

maybe he was gay, and thought the guys on the football team or his family would reject him

Do you have to ruin every single thread you post in by relating the subject at hand to homosexuality?

For fvcks sake, why aren't you banned?

That kind of attitude is exactly the reason why so many young men kill themselves over their sexual orientation.

Oh you're full of sh|t and everybody, including you, knows it. Most of the time, it seems like the only reason you post is to push your homosexual agenda. Many young men kill themselves over sexual orientation because they don't want to deal with it, regardless of how hard it is. Blaming Person-A's suicide on Person-B's attitude is fvcking stupid and only furthers the "it's not your fault" mentality, shirking responsibility. You have no idea why the guy killed himself. There are hundreds of reasons that people use to justify suicide every day; you immediately jump to homosexual/social issues in way too many threads. You're so damn obsessed with your own homosexuality that you can't see past yourself and REASON for a change. Just STFU already. :|

Anyway,

Thanks again everyone. The funeral is tomorrow. I won't be surprised if school's cancelled since everyone's going (small town).

Actually, the real reason is that homos are told they were born that way, etc. and cannot change. Thus they feel hopelessly perverted and worthless. And they try to convince everyone else their perversion is ok so that they'll feel better about themselves.
There are ex-gays out there. Make no mistake.

Condolences, and my prayers and good wishes go out to the dude's friends & family, naturally.

What an unbelievably terrible thing to do to one's mother & father though... I couldn't fathom such an act regardless of the circumstances. Don't know, maybe being an only child makes me view my parents as something incredibly sacred and vice-versa.

Actually, a very high proportion of suicides among teenagers are due to issues associated with sexual orientation. I think it's appropriate to point this out in a suicide thread where the deceased is a teenager.

This seems odd to me. None of them wanted to go down there? If you thought someone you loved might had tried to shoot themselves, wouldn't the first instinct be to run to that person as fast as you could (with the phone in one hand calling 911)..?

Yes, but when its the real thing you arent exactly thinking things through, you would still be in a state of shock.
