Hahaha :). You should have seen the druid quest I had to do at level 16. Basically you have to swim around a huge lake staring at the bottom of it looking for a tiny box. The best part? The druid haven that the quest is in is contested territory! So this 1 level 20 druid was prowling around pking every player trying to do the quest. ARGH!! Luckily, The seaform is worth it! I can swim at least 50% faster than other players and I don't have to breath underwater at all. Now.. I just need travelform and I'll be in heaven.

What's seaform and travelform?

So you guys don't see a problem with bots? From some of your posts it doesn't seem like it has any effect on the game, why so many complaints from people then?

problem with bots? only if i run out of stuff to kill. the game is fun, what other people are doing is not going to ruin my fun.

now, with eq, it is easy to ruin someone's day by training on them on purpose .

Well I can see 20 something. If someone were singularly focused on levelling and played the same # of hours I did, they could probably be 20 (I just turned 15) with no problem. But 30's? I would have had to play at least twice as much and neglected all crafts and skills just to get there in one weekend.

I dont think there is a Bot problem.. WoWs AI would demolish a bot program...
id like to see a bot that can perform multiple atatcks and be able to deal with adds and not die.. WoWs combat may be what some consider simplistic.. but once your done with level 5 the game requires you to pay attention or you will die very fast and alot...
..
I dont see a problem with bots or ebay...
I dont condone it.. but dont care either way..
Money in wow is tight but not a bad thing..
a crafter with a steady stream of materals can make more cash than any bot can..
in fact mobs dont give a whole lot of coin.. most cash in the game comes from instances..(which unless your L60 and bulletproof even the L20 could kill an L60 bot)
or tradeskills...

As for the guys that said me and SKace need to play less.. i worked Tuesday Wednesday and Friday ..restarted my new char on friday when i got home and still made it to 21...
it only takes a couple hours to make it to 20 after doing this a few times...

Ive already made 20 in final 2x and was forced to move to a new server....
so not a huge deal..

Seaform and travelform are 2 of 4 possible shape shifts for the druid class. Sea form allows me to turn into a seal (at least I think its a seal) and I can swim really fast / breath underwater. I can't cast any spells and can only do a basic attack though. Travelform allows me to turn into a cheetah that can run faster than normal. I don't know much about it yet as it is level 40 IIRC. I can also turn into a bear (warrior) or a lion (rogue). Very fun class, albeit, jack of all trades master of none complex.

And no, I don't see a problem with bots until I hear about it ingame and not from some guy who is either not playing the game or barely past level 10. I can't believe someone formed an opinion of bots based on the number of people selling gold on ebay. Some of my guild members have joked about selling gold on ebay at this point, but would rather save for a mount since we are a competitive PVP guild. If we weren't, selling on ebay would be a great way to make some cash.

And yea CVSiN, 20 isn't anything special at this point. This is my 4th time to the 20s since stress test. And honestly I will be REALLY glad to be out of barrens as I'm tired of having done the same quests 4 times now. I want to see what ashenvale and other zones have to offer really badly. My friend who is 31 had 2 chars who were 40 in beta, so he knows his crap down good also, but he has skipped a few nights sleep. No need to insinuate he doesn't have a life, but he is currently between jobs and can afford skipping a few nights sleep :). I don't think I need to trail every post with IRL pics to justify the ammount of time spent playing WoW, do I?

If it only takes a couple of hours to make 20 then this game is complete crap and will eventually implode, because people who actually milk content out of the game will be overwhelmed by the l337 d00ds who want their 23rd character to be level 20.

If you always focus on the negatives, everything in this world is complete crap. EQ2 has been dubbed the game that will take 3 years to complete while WoW has been dubbed the game that can be enjoyed by anyone who has an hour to spare. Choose whichever one you want to play.

You can only have a max of 10 characters across all servers. So the most the l337 d00ds will have is 10 level 60s, if they can handle that (good luck, heh).

My problem is not how long it will take ME to get to 60, but how big of a disparity there allegedly is between people who actually get content out of the game and people who want to power level. If it takes 2 hours to get to 20 and I've spent 20-25 hours getting to 15, even assuming 10-15 hours of my time was crafting and learning the interface, that's a big problem in too many ways to count. Heck, I've probably spent more than 2 hours just walking to quest locations.

I can't imagine getting to 20 in a couple of hours. I played a gnome warlock in the beta (and some gnome mage) and now have a gnome warlock in the retail version. So, I know where all the quests are, best hunting places in the early levels, etc. It took me one solid day to get to ten. I'm not talking gaming geek tied to the rig being IV fed non-stop playing. This is probably 6 to 8 hours....though I do lose track of time while I'm playing so I don't know for sure. Forget about 20, you can't level to ten in two hours.

thought it was 50...10 per server.

And torpid, imo they are full of it. 2hrs aint possible for the remotely sane. My wife and I are playing at a comfortable "speed", fishing, crafting, exploring etc and are well over 30hrs /played @ lvl 19.

I've been playing EQ2 for a little while, but recently all of my friends quit and jumped to WoW. I just can't justify to myself buying a new game at $50, when I just bought eq2. I like EQ2, but grouping there is such a PITA to me.
Decisions. Argh!

I never said 2 hours...... a couple of hours can mean a handful... less than a day thats for sure... like I said we already have 5-6 peeps in the mid 30s range after 2 days of played...

I can make level 20 in about 8-12 hours played or so..

BTW 60 is just the tip of the Iceberg..
hero levels are gonna be a whole new leveling tredmill..
and are gonna rule

That's about where I am at too (25 or so hours @ level 15), and I hope you are right and they are wrong. The last thing I need is WoW to turn into every other MMORPG where in order to experience new content I have to powerlevel and get all of the uber equipment. Although I enjoyed FFXI somewhat, the pressure to farm for money and always have 2 million gil equipment was too much eventually. So far WoW's been very relaxed and enjoyable. Crafting is so much more rewarding than in any previous MMORPG I played.

well my trades are all in the mid 100s
Skinning = 175

you gotta remeber I've been in WoW for over a year... Since Alpha
ive done the 1-20 grind at least 30 times now... every wipe several chars leveled back up..
its not a big deal but I see freaking Troggs In my dreams now....
I have the map of the Human Gnome/Dorf newbie areas in my head at night ok!

Like I said L60 is not that big a deal in a PVP based game.. make no mistake about it.. WoW is a PVP game even on bluebie servers it is still very much a pvp game...

and dont forget the hero levels.... 60+ rumours are chars will transform to some of the other warcraft3 classes after a lenghthy quest to open the hero levels up...
which are NOT going to be easy regardless of what they turn out to be... they have been announced hero levels we just dont know what hero levels are exactly yet...
but they said they will be long and painful to satisfy the power gamers need to accomplishemnt

DAoC was pvp based. Warcraft has wayyyy too much content to be considered a pvp based game. Maybe at the higher levels. If it does turn into a pvp centric game, I will leave 30 seconds later. I have no desire to wade in a pool of testosterone where 12 year olds who memorize allakhazam and spend 23.75 hours a day playing the game can interfere with my enjoyment of it.

Why are you guys all waiting in line? Why not join a server that is less populated?

I never have to wait in line. Ever.

Well then dont do any quests past 30... even on the bluebie server becsue WoW is a PVP game.. very similar to DAOC..
your quests will take you to Horde lands and you will have to kill mobs there that will flag you for attack.. (PVP TAG) and at that time Horde will be able to atatck you...
same thing happens to them In SOuthshore that is always a huge PVP clash area...
they have to do quests in that area that flag them.. and we defend..

I really connot beleive you did not research this before you began playing...
why do you think we have World defence channels in our chat even on normal servers...

that very content you are describing is at the heart of the PVP system it will eventually force you into Horde lands and force you into atatcking mobs that will trigger your PVP flag...

so you be screwed.. and Scarlet Monestary some fo the best loot in the game for 30-50 right dead center in Horde lands...

oh well cant say ill be sorry to see you go any carebear that cant handle pvp even when handeled correctly is no no loss to the game... hell we have 10 girls in our guild that enjoy the crap outa it =P..
and id put them agasint any guy =)
Dont cross that lonely housewife that has nothing but time to play =P

Torpid, what CVSIN said above me is correct. But I have to add that if we were on opposing sides i'd jump at the chance to prevent you killing my fellows, and i'm no 12 yr old ;)

It's fun man, just practice by dueling. Focus on the class that's toughest to beat for you and learn how to turn the tide. For me at least (Priest) high dps characters are toughest, especially those who can stun through my Shield. Rogues, Hunters who stay @ range. I have beaten both classes though, 1v1 same level.

Normal servers have less pvp, in that any pvp is consensual. Either you consent to a duel, to attacking an enemy npc in their zones, to helping an already flagged friendly player or to manually switching pvp on. Actually, although we chose a normal server, there are times i've wished for it to be pvp. Saw a lvl 13 troll rogue just sauntering through Ashenvale and into Twilight Vale the other day. Man that burned me :frown:
