I think it would do poorly at the box office. For the 50+ years the Bond movies have been around, the audience has had a white male as Bond engrained in their memory. It just wouldn't have the same feel if they changed it up.

That said, if he can pull it off, have at it!

Denzel is smoother and, to my mind, closer to the 'cultured weapon' image of a James Bond. Honestly, though, I'd like to see an Englishman in the role. Fake accents are annoying

How is the race central to the character? It's not at all, what's central to the character is that Bond is a super secret do-it-all agent. He could be white or black no problem. It's an old literary character that was made in 1953... gee I wonder why the first Bond wasn't black. There is zero issue with having a black Bond.

He would be fucking awesome. There's isn't a more masculine, more watchable British actor out there today. Daniel Craig never really captured Bond's sex appeal in the way that Elba would.
