Hell no. Gods way of telling you it's their time.

Would you say that about a Child?

A CAT is NOT a CHILD. THERE IS NO CAMPARING THE TWO.

The comparison has already been made. That said, who are you to place more value on one life than another? While I agree that the comparison is ludicrous, it's point was to invalidate the original claim.

Are you Green party? The life of a child, or any human is infinitely more than any animal.

I have a cat which means alot to me and if something like that happened I would Put him to sleep and take him out of misery. I know it is tough but from the extent of it's injuries the poor cat sounds pretty messed up 🙁

Do the humane thing and put the cat to sleep.

I shed a tear thinking about your situation...it must really suck 🙁

Bapace is now officially the biggest jerkoff troll I've seen on ATOT. Congratulations to him. FYI, my cat used to escape out the house of his former owner frequently when she would come home from work. It's interesting how jerkoff trolls will actually make a blind assumption about someone just in order to thread crap and attack them over a subject they don't care about. Wow.

I would resuscitate my cat if their quality of life would not be horribly reduced. I've seen cats that are pretty happy with one eye and bad limps. In fact, there was a cat at the humane society with 3 legs. When I went there to pick out a cat, the 3 legged cat had 5 people thinking about getting him.

Again, the value of a specific life to a specific individual is based purely on the emotional attachment that individual has on that life. It doesn't matter if it's a dog, cat, fish, or another human. "Value" is a purely emotional and subjective term.

If a human I do not know dies, their death will matter very little to me. However, if my cat dies, I will be terribly upset.

See how that works? The death of my cat will affect me more than the death of another human.

Didn't we have this discussion a few weeks ago??? 😕

I agree with you though. There is no comparing the two.

It is to the person who loves their cat as much as they would a child.

Again, your emotional myopia is making it impossible to understand the feelings of others.

I've got news for you. It is not possible to love a cat as much as you love a child. If it is then there's something wrong with you.

Edit-Or you've never had children in which case you aren't qualified to make the comparison.

if the cat is that bad off, i say no. my friend had cat that climbed up inside of the engine compartment on another friends pick-up on a cold night. when he left, the cat got cut up by the fan. cut its leg in2 places, and the back of its neck. they took it to the vet, and they put a cast on the leg and stitched up the neck, but that cat wasnt the same. couldnt run anymore and never regained full use of its neck. the cat always seemed miserable after that, as it could no longer do cat things like run, jump on the counter, chase strings/mice/birds. it just sat, all day long. she ended up regretting keeping him alive, but what could she do? he died like 1.5 yrs later.

i love my dog, but i wouldnt keep him alive if he was in that shape. i just couldnt justify spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on an animal that will more than likely just be miserable. ive seen it happen many times and for what? to have the pet suffer so the owner doesnt feel bad? misplaced priorities , IMO.

bapace, youre a moron. you dont know how this happened. you have no idea of any of the circumstances surrounding this. youre just talking out of your ignorant ass. even if he let the cat roam outside and hunt for days, as cats love to do, whytf do you care?

Oh no, I'm the biggest jerkoff troll ever because I said someone should be responsible for their pet and make sure it can't get hit by a car. fvck off.

Again, something like this is PURELY subjective. Because you cannot see yourself feeling the same way, you think there is "something wrong" with the person who does.

But this is all about the most subjective thing known to us: Human emotions. The emotions I feel are not, and do not have to be anything like yours.

That is not really a fair compairison

I could easily make the comparison that saying my dad means more if he died than some cat I've never seen.

Come on the only way you can compare it is on equal grounds.

By saying, would you value YOUR child more, than YOUR cat?

You cant say: Would you value YOUR cat more than your NEIGHBORS child?

idiot.

so how did the cat get hit by a car? let us in on this knowledge so we can all make an assesment of responsibilty.

From now on, I'm swerving towards cats I see on the road. Just because you @ssholes won't take responsibility for your pets. FOAD.

Well, the compairison was not YOUR child, but "A" child. 😛

But I have some family members who's death would upset me less than my cat's death. So I guess it's a draw. 😀

Then you aren't qualified to make the comparison.

BTW-I would feel more empathy towards a parent who has lost a child than I would to a person who lost a cat. The two do not compare. Not even close.

I would not even consider it. I personally do not see the point in spending thousands of dollars on an animal, even if it is an loved pet.

First off, your jerkoff second post had no point other than to make someone feel bad, and was based on assuming something without any evidence just in order to do that. What? Your mother died of cancer that had been growing for a couple of years? You sould be responsible enough to take your mother to the doctor twice a year for checkups.

Secondly, you don't know jack about cats or probably pets in general, and you don't care about them, by your own admission. Therefore you basically admitted that you went out of your way to insult or make someone feel bad in a way that was not on topic despite the fact that you don't care at all.

Thirdly, even if you were trying to be helpful in some way, which is not likely given your responses in this thread, you are a jerkoff because you can't even word something in a slightly sensitive manner.

I don't think that's entirely fair.

At any rate, I would concede that most people will have more of an attachment to their child. But What I am trying to say is that this is all purely subjective and an individual thing.

There are actually laws about this very thing, fvcktard.

What an appropriate time to mentionlaws, do you stand over drunken drive's broken bodies at scenes of accidents and tell them how stupid they are driving drunk too?

Would I resuscitate? Probably not, in fact I would consider euthanasia if the injuries were bad enough.

Look, I'm not saying that your opinion doesn't matter. Just that until you have children there is really no way to realize the depth of your feelings for them. I didn't like being around children and went out of my way to avoid dealing with them before my wife and I had our son. But when my son was born I was moved so much I couldn't even speak for fear of just weeping uncontrollably. Watching him grow and learn new things is so incredible, you have no idea until you have children of your own.

I had a cat I've had for 12 years die last week. It was very sad and I cried a bit but I would be devestated for months or perhaps years if something happened to my son. I would feel more empathy toward someone losing a child over a cat for the same reason. I know how I would feel in their place.

That is all.
