Hey,

I'm sorry to hear about this dude...I know how this feels. One of my cats became deathly ill one weekend, and the only vets that were open to put it to sleep (and out of its misery - it was in a lot of pain) were emergency care vets that I couldn't afford at the time...I had to put the cat down myself. :( My condolences for your loss man, I know exactly how hard this can be.

I'm very sorry to hear about your cat :( Personally I'd spare no expense, but I'm of the opinion that most animals are more deserving of life than most people. If I had a cat I specifically would keep him/her an indoor cat for fear of something like this happening. I know many people are rabid about allowing their cats outdoor freedom, but I think most of those who feel that way are in more rural areas where the cat is less likely to suffer an accident.

I'm tired and it's been a long week. Thank you all for your concerns I know he's in a better place now.

:( I'm so sorry

I understand how upsetting this is....

if it is within your means, have them do whatever they can to help your kitty.

A pet can be like a family member, so ask yourself if it was one of your family members....you know you would not even hesitate to save them.

Some people don't see the value and meaning of having a beloved pet and the trauma caused by seeing it get hurt regardless of the circumstances leading to it.

If anything happened to my dog Daisy, it would be like losing someone in my family who is also my best friend and companion. I would do whatever it took to save her, no matter how much it cost me.

Good luck to you and I hope things work out......

I guess it's best to just end his misery. :(...........

I'll going to visit him one last time after work.

WHAAA??? You know, one time this cat jumped from a pilot's plane at about 10K feet or something (because it was asleep and wokeup) and the cat landed perfectly on all 4 legs, so how in the hell would a 2 story fall hurt this thing?

They say cats that fall from VERY tall building usually are OK. The distance gives them time to relax and they spread out their bodies which act as a sort of parachute. Cats falling from lower distances are not always as lucky.

Jeez, I'm really sorry to hear that. I went through what you are going through just a week ago. I wasn't there when she was put to sleep though. :(

Edit-I'm glad that idiot troll got a vacation though. He deserved it...big time. Mod comments are going in my sig in memory of your cat.

His name was Nico and he was 6 years old if anybody wanted to know. He was born and raised in Boston for most of his life and was my room mate as I went to college. He loved to sleep, eat, and hang out with the neighborhood cats (I think he was popular with the ladies). He was always wary of strangers and would run and hide if he encountered one.

I had always hated cats until I met Nico. Cats had killed my rabbit and guinea pig when I was young. So in my mind they were evil and bad. But Nico changed my views. He was independent, smart, and loyal. And I won't forget the many times where he pawed my hair to wake me up for my morning classes and his playful antics with my dog. It's kind of ironic that these happy memories still bring up tears but I think I'll be alright. He's in a painfree place.

A bouquet of white flowers were placed on his favorite resting spot and the blood stains on the carpet had to be cleaned yesterday.

To those that answered yes to my original question of resuscitation. One thing I've learned is that you'll probably need to look into getting health insurance for your pet. As others have said it is extremely expensive in the vet ER. In my case it was over two thousand for just 24 hours of intensive care.

Sorry for the long winded post and lack of cliffnotes but I had to get that off my chest and made me feel better.

I hope I can go back to lurking and posting in a couple days... or hours. :)

Yea the weird thing is he didn't sustain any injuries except a broken jaw and eye. It seemed that he might've been hit across the face with a hard object.
