They let one of the houses in our sub division become a house for people with substance abuse problems, shortly after robberies in our neighborhood sky rocketed.
It didn't last long before residents pressured for it to be shut down.
So I probably would not really like living near section 8 apartments.

Yes it is. There are a lot of upscale apartments that offer affordable housing on select units (people making less than 60k a year).
Developers are building massive section 8 apartment complexes out in rural areas, this is the only thing they are getting Government funding for these days.

My planned community has a covenant, which the county police and sheriff department is supposed to enforce, prohibiting sub-leasing/renting of homes. Yet, my next door neighbor has been doing this for +6 years.
The problem is proving the covenant violation in the first place, which the HOA board seems not inclined to get off their arses and do. The last renters failed to pay about six months rent, skipped out of town the day the property owner was informing them of impending eviction papers.
This is a repeat over the past six years and the property itself is becoming an eye-sore. No need for Section 8 housing with these kinds of neighbors.

even the toniest cities are required to have low income housing. they have it in danville ca where i have a house, but it doesnt affect us, that is why they invented gated communities. in san francisco where my condo is there are multimillion dollars residences, and a mile or two away there is the tenderloin, which is awful. you dont get much spill over though, the people pretty much stay there. so i guess i dont care
I live in a small town (city) of about 5000 people. My neighborhood consists of 2 streets, and is all of about 3-4 years old. They just built a section 8 apartment complex (not super big, about 30 units it looks like). The apartments look nice, 4-plexes with garages, and a bigger single story building with multiple units and no garages. The place looks decent enough I guess. Must be nice to be able to get a 3 bedroom 2bath and a garage for 500 a month though.
I'd consider moving, but i'm kind of hosed. Our neighborhood isn't quite built all the way, there are still a few empty lots and a 3 new homes for sale, and one for sale by owner. I'd have to take a big loss if i wanted to sell my house at this point. Can't sell it if theres a brand new one down the street for the same price.

I've actually heard all races of retards use the "word" "axe" instead of "ask." I think it has more to do with income level and possibly geographic location than race.

no we don't have cable. by cable i mean satellite. same with internet my choice is a 33.6 connection or a "wireless dsl" witch goes out every storm.
yes i would kill for wired TV and internet. be nice to keep them up whenever someone sneezes. sure when the wind shifts we can smell the pig farm and when the spread manure on the fields you don't want to go outside (or hang your laundry out takes 3 washes to get the smell out) heh
edit: I just remembered. a few years ago a contractor was going to buy a farm on the edge of town. He wanted to build 10 houses (at the time houses were selling FAST even out here). He was working a deal that would get cable, and sewage (that was shot down) out here. I was bummed when he gave up. sigh but hell another 10 houses would have doubled the size fo the town

I would not protest, as I actually have a day job... But I would leave as soon as I'm able.
My sister moved into a section 8 apartment and it was the biggest shithole I've ever seen. She would complain that every night people would be bumping their radios and partying. I suppose if you don't work, every single day is like a weekend day. She had a job and had to get up for work, and she found it very difficult to live there. She also paid $1100 a month for a 2 bedroom apartment in this shithole, while everybody else lived there for free.
The sad part...
Other people in the apartment building would call the cops for noise disturbance, and my sister (who was white) would get notes on her door from all the angry blacks that were getting busted telling her to watch her back. They just assumed since she was white, she was the one calling the cops because shes racist. She said she never called once. She was just counting the days she until her lease was up and could leave.

Not quite the same thing, but in my old neighborhood, the builder went belly up and Habitat for Humanity bought the remaining lots (or maybe they were donated) including one next to my house. I predicted the neighborhood would decline and property values would plummet but no one believed me and called me a variety of names.
Sure enough, that is exactly what happened. Those houses weren't kept up and in at least a couple of the families, there were multiple domestic disputes. Fortunately I got out of there in time.

She is still white, but one of my nephews (16 yo) changed from white to wigger, though. But I think hes back to white again now that they moved out.

I'm wondering if section 8 is different in various parts of the country. In MD, there's no way in hell I'd live near section 8. I don't have an issue with poor people, and am poor myself, but it seems like things go to shit when you get a bunch of them together; at least in MD.
