Interesting responses. I didn't realize so many ATOTers live alone.

The question was meant to be an all or nothing scenario. Obviously most people wouldn't give their life for an animal. I was thinking more about a situation where you would lose all living beings from your household or your own life.

i live alone and i couldnt care less about the ants who occasionally visit my kitchen, so my answer is no

i love my cat but i don't think i could have to die so the cat should live.

i'd sacrifice myself for my children (when i have them), if it came down to it.

If my wife's cat were in that scenario, I would only intervene if it would mean that the chances of the kitty getting smooshed were markedly increased. Call me evil, but I cannot stand my wife's cat.
