I would eat them without a second thought. Things would be different if i had to kill the person before eating them though.
Sure. How about this one?
Your wife and kids were stranded with you. Your wife succumbed to injuries and rescue was weeks away. Would you feed your wife to your kids to keep them alive?
Basic survival skills & common sense should prevent you from putting yourself in a position where your only option to survive is to eat human flesh. My answer is no.
I don't see anything wrong with eating another person to survive, but I wonder what part of the human body is the most tasty?...
You mean like a plane crash in the middle of the Andes? How would basic survival skills & common sense have helped in that situation?

Clearly, if they just understood the sun rises in the east or were able to locate Polaris in the night sky they could have avoided crashing.

I don't have any interest in flying over the Andes while it's snowing, so I wouldn't be in that situation. There are a lot of ways to avoid this situation altogether.
If there was absolutely zero options of alternative food source - then yes my basic survival instincts would probably kick in. I'd just have to seriously imagine I was eating chicken [because everything tastes like chicken right?]
If I had a supply of meat available to eat in order to survive, damn straight. I would eat cat, dog, or any other source of fuel available as well. Goes back to my central question:
If we're not supposed to eat animals (or humans), then why are they made out of meat?
