plus, if he wanted to be circumsized, it's a procedure that he can have done later in life. the reverse isn't as easy.

The reversise is impossible. You can stretch the skin to eventually create a fold to mimick uncut, but you still don't have the glands that were once there.

Would many of you pro-circumcision people also do the same thing to your daughter and if not why would you only mutilate your sons?

I didn't realize girls had penises with foreskin.

I ask that same question to many people who are staunch advocates of male circumcision (who incidentally are usually harsh critics of the practice of female circumcision), and they usually don't have an answer beyond "it's more hygienic", which doesn't matter because as long as you shower once a day and wash yourself you're fine.

Call me an ignorant SOB, but what's a female circumcision?

Before my kids were born I agonized over about this issue. Luckily, I had girls so it was a moot point.

Now after seeing 3 circumcisions during clinical this summer. I'd say definately do it. The it's a simple procedure and the little tikes barely felt it with.

Ok... That's not really even in the same league as a male circumcision. I'm circumcised and I have lots of feeling.

We had our son circumcised when he was born and will do it again if we have another boy. We didn't do it for religious reasons, more for hygenics and esthetics. And if he doesn't like it when he grows up, oh well. I'm not planning on suing my parents any time soon for having me circumcised. I'm rather glad they did it, actually.

For someone to bring that up is childish, IMO.

I agree completely. I'm very happy I was not cut.

bwahaha
Not to mention uncircumcized guys get more pleasure too..
Also the foreskin is a great lube, so you never need lotion to whack off..

Well, female circumcision reduces sensation (albeit in some cases it probably just about eliminates certain aspects of it) just as male circumcision supposedly does. Even if you still have feeling, don't you admit it's possible that you don't have as much feeling as an uncircumcised male? Like the article on fem. circ. said, it's also for aestheic appeal, just like some people say about male circ.

If for no other reason, I would consider circumcision to be an unnecessary surgery & therefore an unnecessary risk. I know in general the little boys get through it all right, but the exceptions are just horribly tragic, such as this one.

Also, my brother and sil adopted 2 little boys from Russia, neither circumsized, but that was soon remedied. The first one had a lot of problems with infection and such from the surgery, not sure about the 2nd one. Poor kids, as if they hadn't been through enough already, "welcome to America."

Sure, it's possible I don't have as much sensation as an uncircumcised male, but what's the point? If I still have more than enough pleasure during sex, do I need more?

this has come up before and will likely turn into a massive flamefest about religion, abortion, and parenting.

We circumsized our 3yr old so that he will look like dad. That was our only reason. I don't think its a big deal either way, but there are plenty of people out there that do.

I know a guy who has scars over 1/2 of his body from where he was burned in a fire. He plans on throwing any sons of his into a fire for a few seconds so that they look like him.

Why the FVCK does it matter if he looks like his dad or not? Of all the people I've known in my life, I've never once met a father and son who'll whip out thier dicks and marvel at the similarity of them.
LMFAO!

Classic. :D

And I agree.

I'm never having children but I'd never mutilate my son if I did.

It's really sad that people actually use 'like father like son' as a permission slip to mame and scar their children.

The male equivalent of that link would be cutting off the glans, something very different from circumcision. I think it's definitely a good idea for hygienic reasons.

if people are naked all the time, circumcising the penis is as logical as cutting your eyelid open

Bottom line: It's more hygenic (only if you're lazy) and less sensitive (less pleasurable).

more hygenic to be circumcised? I think that's a big myth. Its as easy to clean either way.

But, being uncircumcised, I think I would prefer to be circumcised. Just because during sex, there's less skin between the rubbing surfaces so more friction can occur. I just think that would make for better sex.

I take it you are a dirty bastard who doesn't shower every day? Oh you do so why don't you think people who are circumcised shower every day as well? Can't you come up with a better reason than for hygienic reasons? ;)

The "hygenic reasons" argument is bullcrap. You have to clean your penis regardless of whether or not you're circumcised. If you're not circumcised, you slide a bit of skin back before cleaning. It adds 1 second to the cleaning process. If you're not washing your penis... that's pretty freaking nasty regardless of whether or not you're circumcised.
