The Chinese economy is booming enough without me having to buy their cheap crap cars too!

Even I am Chinese but I don't trust any Chinese made products. Build quality usually sucks
I'd better stick to European/Japanese cars

As with anything electronic/hardware/software, I always wait for version 1.1 or 1.2... never go for 1.0.

Do you think they're available in any other colours than red? 😉

You must be from somewhere like HK cause mainland China the Anti-Japanese culture is still pretty exotic

hell no - they copy everyone elses design.

I wonder if you drive a Japanese car. They sure as heck copy everybody.

Are you fvking serious? The Japanese cars are 1000X more innovative and start the trends to body design changes that American car companies are only now starting to implement!

LOL almost anything you buy was made in China. Take a good look around your house and I would say 90% or higher is stamped made in China 😛

Yeah I know they are all over the place in Europe and US. Well I was from HK the situation is a bit better there though I am living in UK. Because HK people avoid buying Made in China stuff if they can so the sutff aren't as good selling as those in Europe/USA

Earlier a new conservatory was bult in the house and bought a classic looking fan+light combo and the box has a 128 font size "Made in China" stamped on it... Sigh

But they still don't innovate anything, just using design ideas from European cars.

They've revolutionized the car manufacturing process. Their designs may not be innovative, but their corporate structure and their factories are models of efficiency. It's one of the big reasons why Japanese manufacturers produce reliable products with bigger profit margins.

its probably not gonna be $4000. once you add all the safety features and other stuff you have to have to sell a car in the US.

Hang on, hang on guys... read the article:

Jie said Geely's cars started at $4,000 (2,200 pounds) for its smallest, most basic runaround, rising to $10,000 for larger, sportier models.

The pictured model isn't going to be the cheapest, smallest runaround; it's going to be one of the 'sportier' models. I'd amagine the smaller runaround models would look something like this pimpwagon... (nice).

You're not going to get a fullsized, sporty coupe for $4K!

I agree fully. My point was that they still copy designs. The Japanese cars are the best on the market in terms of quality/price, but not the best looking or the ones most fun to drive.

Heh, half the car at half the price.

Dang, at 4K you could get a used model for under $1,000 fairly quickly instead of waiting ten years for most cars but the question is, would it last longer than 2 years?

I work in the Injection Plastic Field and I see plenty of Chinese workmanship on plastic Injection molds so the answer is NO!
