Eh, that's nothing.

The week before christmas a Pickup truck slammed into the back of a a chevy Lumina stopped in the middle on I-264 The driver of the pickup truck was able to escape from the firey mess(the chevy's gas tank explosed) the driver of the chevy was killed, hopfully by the impact and not the fire.

This is what happens when a Pickup going at highway speed hits a stopped car looks like

http://content.hamptonroads.com/story.cfm?story=116423&ran=150788

If you read the article it was latter found out hte driver of the thunderbird was also driving without a license as was the driver of the pickup.

I'm anti-stupid people.
Had the driver of the thunderbird and the pickup not been on the road(they both had NO license) the accident would never have happended.

They both should be keel hauled(we have quite a few Aircraft carriers which to do it from near by)

yea i saw that show, just goes to show how stupid ricers are. but atleast they are only endagering themselves. jackasses who raise their trucks so high they'd decapitate even people in suvs should be shot. like teens that torture animals its a sign of mental disorder.

anyways, if you want to be safe drive a minivan, they are strong in crashes against most anything and will not flip over like suvs do.

n00blet op heres the other video you failed to post

common sense tells you that a little rice box isn't going to hold up.

Hooray for my diesel powered, soul-sucking, hippie-enraging, 5500lb monstrosity of a pickup truck. I'd probably have a crushed ribcage in a high-speed accident, though- 1982 = no airbags. Oh, BTW hippies- vegetable oil powered.

What about a car that is "armored" or reinforced like those that dignitaries and high profile people drive?

More like common sense tells you that, unless you're in an Abrams tank, and a car slams into the side of your car doing 60mph or more, you're pretty much screwed. The only real advantage an SUV has in such an accident is that it is higher up, so there is a greater likelihood of the car crashing into you hitting the b-pillar, which is a big advantage, but you're still pretty screwed.

So I should get brush guards for my pick-up so I don't hit lower cars "soft spot"?

Damn it! I killed another thread :(
