I wouldnt. I drove the chip limited 133 mph in my old Mercedes for about 15 minutes on a long clear stretch of I20 outside of El Paso. You start to get sweaty palmed and it feels like you get tunnel vision because you dont have much time to react if anything goes wrong. Thankfully I slowed down to 80 (70mph speed limit) just in time to miss an El Paso Sheriffs patrol that had someone pulled over and a State Trooper a few miles further down. At those speeds you dont get a ticket...you go to jail.

Supposedly the Bugatti Veyron can go 250 mph. I couldnt imagine ever going 175 on the freeway much less 250 miles per hour. What about you?

I wouldn't drive that fast unless for some magical reason I knew the next 10+ miles were empty.

it would have to be one completely flat, completely straight and 100% empty freeway. so i vote no.

No, it's unsafe. I'm comfortable cruising at 90-100 on empty highway, but that's about my limit.

Ive driven from DFW to Phoenix about 7 times. Its a 1000 mile drive with long stretches of desolation on I20. Hardly any traffic sometimes and rarely a patrol. It is wise however not to push your luck. ;)

No. 120-130 max. I'd be more comfortable with around 110. Stuff starts coming at you WAY to fast much above that.

in an F1 car during an F1 race, sure.
Yeah, on a track sure, but not on a public highway.

Fastest I've done is 120 but that probably wasn't for more than a few miles and that was a looong time ago.

I max out at around 180kph. I guess that is around 110mph?

The freeways here are minimum 3 lanes each way, but anything smaller and I wouldn't risk going faster because there just isn't the width of road to help catch your mistakes.

I'd worry about crossing animals. At 250mph you can forget life if even a squirrel hits your tire.

My motto is anything above 100 mph and I better be in an airplane.

You can never go fast enough. :)

Although I was cruising at 110 for a little while several years ago and some chic tried to pass me going into a small turn she almost flew off the road. I looked at my brother in the passenger seat and we both said idiot at the same time. I slowed down a little to go through the turn and went back up to 110.

No I'd be scared that something happens and I can't react fast enough.

what's crazy is I think it's in Berlin where there's no speed limit. That must be insane. Guess people get used to it, but there must be lot of fatal accidents.

If you got up to 250 on most highways in america you would be dead in a few seconds due to the bumps in the road.

Driving a car that has been designed and tested to operate at 250mph? Sure.

Driving an average car? Hell no. Cars are shaped like giant wings and consumer vehicles have nothing providing downforce to counteract the lift. I buried the needle once w/ my Corolla (that's ony 140Km/h) and felt like it was starting to fly.

QFT. Ive owned 3 Miatas, one of which was 1993 model. It felt like a damn toy! Take it over 80 and it felt lighter than air. I had to upgrade the wheels from a light alloy to bigger and denser steel wheels just to feel "safe" at those speeds. D:

I got up to 160 in my bmw a couple of different times. It was only for a few seconds, and it was on a rather wide 3 lane interstate that was pretty straight and in good shape. It's kinda nerveracking
