Muktuk.

Otherwise known as salt-cured whale-fat. The piece I tried was half skin, half fat. The fat was chewy and ridiculously salty, and the skin tasted like rotten salmon and was extremely stringy and would get stuck in every tooth crevice imaginable.

Not...very...tasty...

Isn't that what the old folks use to commit suicide?

Never heard of that dude.

A long time ago in HS, I didn't do a sniff check (;)) and almost... almost tasted possibly the worst thing that I'd ever taste in my life...

Grabbing a jug of milk out of the refrigerator and chugging it...then realizing that it's spoiled.

Along the same lines....back in the day when Coke/Pepsi came in glass bottles....grabbing a bottle that's 1/4 full thinking it's the one you've been drinking and finding out that it's someone elses'.......spit cup for their tobacco.

Salvia Extract. No words to describe...

Why would you be eating that

It's a liquid extract of Salvia that you hold in your mouth, opposed to smoking it. Look it up; you need to hold it in your mouth for around 15-30 minutes, and it burns, tastes like pure ass, and your mouth tries to swallow it, but you need to keep it in your mouth, so your gag reflex kicks in. It was NOT fun.

Whats the benefit? Why do people do it?

Supposed to open your mind up to things you would not normally open up to, and supposed to be a pretty powerful experience. It just made me want to throw up.

Oh yeah. So, when I was visiting Spain and staying with a family there, the father of the household had a peculiar (to me, anyway) hobby. He grew homemade yogurt from goat's milk like Arabian nomads would do in their saddlebags.

I tried some. It was the most sour, stomach-turning substance you could ever imagine. I had to exercise supreme self control to first stop myself from vomiting violently and then finish it. Then they told me how they normally load it with sugar... anyway, it was the nastiest nasty, random mix of bacteria grown in the cupboard you could possibly dream of.

oh yeah, i simply must mention this

i remember this food channel hot sauce challenge, this small group of people took small spoonfuls of 'the source' hot suace, anyways

one kid took more then the others and his eyes were full of tears and his mouth was red and inflammed.

he made some comment that it was really really terrible, afterall, he couldn't do anything about the burning.

haggis

i think haggis is pretty good actually. It is the lining of a sheep stomach right?

I would have to say this thai tofu dish from a place in chicago....god i wanted to puke but ate it anyways because i was hungry :(

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haggis

I feel like w/ the way haggis is cooked, the real flavor of the organs are masked by the spices and from it being mashed together. If you're actually interested in tasting the organs, you should try some asian dishes that single them out

I once had this brown soup that had sea snails in it. The snails were deshelled so they looked like slugs. The snails had a very unpleasant chewiness and occasionally had sand in them. They tasted like what you'd think dirt tastes like. I hate it when I bite on sand it's worse than nails on a chalkboard.

Another time I was a a relative's fast food restaurant and saw an old drink dispenser that said Orange Bang on it. I grabbed a cup and drank deeply but spit it out about halfway because it didn't taste right. The water had a soapy aftertaste and was very dark with swirls in it that made it look oily. My relative told me that was the dishwashing water.

VO5 hair tonic. It was an accident, I was really hung over and had intended to grab the mouth wash and got the hair tonic instead.
