The audio just didnt come across well on the TV.

I've got a receiver and a pretty good 5.1 system and it just sucked compared to say a concert on HDNET. The didnt have it mic'ed right or something.

I thought it was awesome, that guy with the suit with the shifting lights and then the red heart in the middle was awesome.

The sound was really bad though.
I am guessing that my definition of "awesome" would be totally different than yours.

How can an event of this magnitude be so poorly executed? You would think this stuff would be tested to hell before show time. Someone in the sound department is going to get fired by the sound of it.

lol i thought it was awesome too,

yeah the sound engineering sucked, but the performance was awesome, i thought it was funny how on facebook all the negative stuff poured in so fast....like before it was even done....

people dont realize how much was really going on there, the only part that was lipsynched was the usher part... why was usher even there lol...BEP KILLED IT however.. in a good way...

Ah, stoned again, eh? You'd have to be blitzed out of your mind to have found that performance anything but horrible.

no lol.. i didnt even have a beer until like the 4th quarter...

i thought will.i.am was amazing, and i thought fergie was good too, especially the part during "where is the love."

people forget this was LIVE, NOT LIPSYNCHED, you cant expect something perfect, especially with the dancing involved... i honestly cant remember many super bowl halftime shows that we're better...Michael Jackson was the best ever... but in all reality, i think this one was pretty damn good....

Technicly that was pretty bad. Seemed like every time they went to a solo someone forgot to turn their mic up. Tonnes of dead air. Also, each solo sounded like the person was singing acapella, with the accompaning music over muted.

Just sing the fucking songs the way they're written...they're not "Pop music" that can be improvised to suit your liking.
I was sitting there waiting for the idiotic anti-CIA lyric so it amused me greatly when he changed that part to something about jobs and stimulus.

I think the Tron-ish thing worked for the field dancers. And I liked how they integrated the stadium lighting/signage into the show. But the BEP's were just boring....stale.

The Who had a cool stage with awesome, awesome lights. But I agree that it wasn't Daltrey's best performance.

I think the Aerosmith show came the closest to actually rocking. Britney Spears was still hot back then. And Mary J. Blige did great on Walk This Way.

Wow... I've heard local bands LITERALLY sing Sweet Child 'O Mine better than that. That was atrocious.

I feel bad for Slash. I'm sure he was standing there the entire time wishing the platform would take him back down.

Fergie singing Sweet Child O Mine....blegh

That said, I can't stand the BEP anyway. They have no redeeming talent and their songs are meaningless and senseless. Some songs have a catchy beat, but that's about it. How they're so popular baffles me.

I was just waiting for Slash to reach over and say "Fergie, I'mma let you finish, but Axel had the best Sweet Child of Mine ever, ever!".

Holy crap that was horrible, it was even more horrible when Fergie tried to sing. I think it would have served her better if she just stood there, and jiggle.

I never watch any of the half-time shows. I think they're all retarded no matter who is performing.

Im not a fan of BEP but wow that was bad. Even my girlfriend who is a huge BEP fan and all my friends who were high at the time said what the fuck was that. The commercials this year were even worse with the only exception being the House commercial IMO.

Slash was about the only good part and his part was short. Fergie was hot but whatever.

I was at the Grey Cup (CFL's championship) about 4-5 years ago when it was in Vancouver last. BEP did that halftime show too. I fell asleep in my seat. srs.

Oh, and the Prince halftime show was pretty fantastic.

The half time show was awful. Black Eyed Peas were terrible and when Fergie belted out her rendition of Sweet Child of Mine I had it on mute. She's hot though.
