WORST MOVIE ENDINGS EVER.--SPOILERS INSIDE

I was thinking the other day about movie endings, and how I don't like most of them, and I started to make a top-10. But since I'm a techie I have no long term memory, or short term. All of my scribblings of code/things to remember are dashed around in a 100 pieces of loose leaf sh!t that I cna't find when I need (where's that #*(#*@Q## code snippet) or in my 1,253 favorites, so I decided to think of the first one that popped in my head, which was a mundane enough task to be able to succeed.

Far and AWAY. I generally liked the movie, but will never watch it again for that GAY ASS ending. Smiling and Holding the flag drilling it into the ground. 3 hours on my Arse to leave with a putrid puke forming in my gut. Sorry POS ending.

The Fly 2.

Wretched.

O God. Saddest thing ever. Even for the bad guy.

Worst movie ever. The "hero" goes around killing innocent people. Yay.

Hahah, far and away! My friends and I used to yell "SHANNNON!" and "JOSSEPHHH" at each other for no apparent reason.

Twelve Angry Men had one of the lamest endings I've even seen in a movie. The story, acting, everything was great up until the last couple minutes. Then it's just

<< Hey what's your name?
Davis.
Oh. Well, see you around.
>>

and then fade to credits. I was totally disappointed with that.

calpha, while not the "worst," but one of the most annoying to me was the ending of Ronin, in that I wanted to know what's in the case. Ronin was an awesome movie, don't get me wrong, but I wanted to know what was in the case :(

Hollow Man... although that was a God-awful movie anyway, so by extension, the ending blew major chunks.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within... Great graphics, but they killed any chance of there being a good ending and then all of a sudden made up some crap that doesn't make any sense to explain how they can still save the world.

If anyone says LotR: The Fellowship of the Ring, I will skewer you alive. I saw it for the third time on Saturday, and I'm ready for a fourth before it's no longer in theatres. :)

I fully agree. it was a pretty lousy ending.

I've read the books four times, and I feel violated by watching the movie of FOTR :(

How can you say Office Space? Office Space ruled! :D

Worst ending would have to be "A Perfect Storm". I mean they try so hard and everyone dies in the end. WTF?! :(

I can't believe some people think that ending of LOTR sucks! That's how the book ended (well, almost, they changed it tiny bit). I have actually met people who think that it sucked because they never destroyed the ring in the movie! Well, there are still 2 movies coming up, each continuing where the previous one left!

Haven't seen Perfect Storm but... Actually, I find a nice change when the heros DON'T make it :). In 99% of the movies, it ends well. I like it when they surprise the audience by making them fail.

Oh, the worst ending IMO: Volcano. God that sucked! Well, the entire movie was god-awful, but still... Of course we had a racist white man in the movie. But he had to overcome his feelings, and work with a black man so they could save everybody. In the end they were all covered with ash and a little girl commented "They all look the same". OH... MY... GOD! Can it BE any more cheesy and lame?!?!?

EDIT: Someone at amazon.com said these wise words about this movie:

<< The dialogue in the movie is just that. It's so forced, so unnatural, that I nearly fell sick. And the times it tries to be so philosophical and tear-jerking...even more painful. The best example is near the end, where everyone is covered in ash and dust and therefore colored gray. A little boy looking for his mother says something like "Look. Everyone looks the same." Now, I know this was supposed to be referring to everyone's symbolic unification, despite gender or history or ethnic background, to stop the lava from destroying everything...but it was so bad I felt like crying, crying at how low filmmaking had fallen. >>

Yes, a tiny bit. Only real differences that I can think of are:

1. Aragorn, Merry and Pippin find out that Frodo leaves them
2. Boromir dies in the end of first movie, not in the beginning of the second (the way it happened in the books)

Actually, the whole scene was different.

- in the book, Frodo sits on the large, stone chair on top of the hill, looking out over the land about him.
- Boromir approaches him, and 'changes'
- Frodo slips on the ring.
- Frodo notices the presence of the eye
- Frodo runs away, leaving Boromir behind.
- Frodo heads for the boats, determined to end the quest by himself
- Boromir notifies the others that Frodo has disappeared
- They all start looking for him.
- Sam suddenly gets the bright idea to check near the boats
- Sam sees one of the boats slide into the river, without anyone near.
- He runs towards the boat and misses it, so that he falls into the river
- Frodo (who is still invisible) pulls him into the boat
- They rest at the other shore of the river, before leaving for Mordor.
-- TTT
- Boromir's horn is heard by Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas.
- Coming near the place the sound came from, Aragorn finds Boromir, pierced with arrows, his horn broken
- Boromir tells him that the Halflings were taken by Orcs, and that he has failed. He further tells Aragorn to go to Minas Tirith to save his people.
- Then Legolas and Gimli enter the scene
- They give Boromir an honorable funeral after Aragorn has told them what happened.
- They find out that Frodo and Sam must have taken the missing boat.
- They decide to go after the Orcs, because the Fellowship has fallen apart.

-----------

I didn't see much of the above scene in the movie.
