Or maybe, they thought they could take out Alex Rodriguez and sneak in the next two games.

A loss is a loss, Yanks are up 8.5 games. Tomorrow is another day ;)

Go Yanks!

I agree, how does he swing at someone with his mask on? Classy. Ortiz is just another bully. Yea Tayon grabbed Kapler. Then 3 Red Sox players pile on him. Classy.

Why not? The Yes Network does not discriminate between wins and losses by Yankee teams. It just might seem that way, seeing how they win most of the time. A good game is a good game.

First of all, if you're any kind of Yankee fan, and not some bandwagoner, you'd know that Soriano hovers over the plate, and any strike is going to look like it's coming straight at his head.

And what's embarassing about the second pic, the groundscrew doing what MLB told them to do, their jobs, in case the WS Game 1 was going to be played in two days?

Please stop these lame attempts, you're embarassing yourself, although your fellow Yankee fans with their two remaining brain cells will think it's funny.

Tanyon Sturtze surprised the heck out of me, he literally flew in from nowhere. ;)

He held onto that chokehold as if his life depended on it! :p

What's embarassing about 26 world championships, many of them after the year 1918? And the pic is funny as hell ;)

Just because he can find humor in something you obviously can't, means he should be embarrased? If anyone should be embarrassed, it's you. It's rude to tell someone they can't have a laugh at some very telling pictures.

:p

Thanks for those pics, RedPickle. ;)

What's more funny is how Redsox put up Poles for the Championship flags, but they all got rusted out and had to be taken down.

To respond,

1. As you can clearly see in the first picture, that ball was OVER Soriano's head. He did not jump back from an inside pitch, he ducked down from one near his head (see the catcher's glove). Bandwagoner? It's always instantly assumed a Yankee fan is a bandwagoner, when we all know that the most hated team in baseball (possibly all sports) are the Yankees. I have been a fan since the early 90's when I was about 8 and if you ask any Yankee fan they would probably tell you the same. Stop accusing Yankee fans of being bandwagoners. The Yankees may not be underdogs, but their fans sure as hell are.

2. I'm sorry, if I recall correctly the MLB did NOT instruct them to paint the World Series logo. I do not ever recall ANY team painting a logo BEFORE they have a series won. It was an embarassing move on the part of the Boston Red Sox administration.

3. Lame attempts? Please, your best comebacks are "stop living in the past" and "it wasn't intentional" It's funny cause it's funny.

We must be looking at different pics, because from the angle of that pic, there's nothing clear about it. He ducked down because he's hovering over the plate. ANY pitch in the strike zone is going to look like it's coming right at him, because he's over the friggin plate. If he's in a normal batting stance, that ball is a letter high strike. It's over his head because his head is 2 feet from the ground.

First you say nothing is clear, then you attempt to clear it up? OK. Anyways, if you look at the picture more closely, you see that Soriano is not doing anything wrong, clearly atleast a foot away from the plate. The catchers mitt is quite high, telling you why he was ducking.

First you say there is nothing clear about the picture, then you try to clear things up anyway? Soriano is about a foot away from the plate, nothing illegal. The pitch is aimed at his head. Why can't you get that through your head?

From ESPN:

Big Fight: After Alex Rodriguez was hit by a pitch in the third inning, he began shouting at Red Sox pitcher Bronson Arroyo. Jason Varitek stepped in, and A-Rod shouted a favorite four-letter epithet at the catcher before challenging him to fight. Varitek went at him, and both benches cleared. A-Rod and Varitek were ejected; Tanyon Sturtze, the Yankees' starting pitcher in this game, got a choke hold on Red Sox outfielder Gabe Kapler, and by the time their scrap was over, Sturtze had hurt his pinky and had a cut on the left side of his face -- an injury that appeared to have been caused by Boston DH David Ortiz.

Classy. Another reason for his suspension.

lol, you people amuse me to no end. ARod will be getting the 5 days for instigating the fight. It's typical of you Yankee backers to highlight that Ortiz tidbit, but seemingless let the fact that A-Rod shouted a favorite four-letter epithet at the catcher before challenging him to fight go un-noticed in the backround. There's your 5 days right there.

Rodriguez instigated the fight by ... being in the way of that inside pitch?

This grows tiring...
