WMP9 = Suck

What do you guys think?

I downloaded it, and just like M$, 2 steps forward, 4 steps back.

Is it really going to open in full mode and then switch to skin mode EVERY TIME it opens? (I REFUSE to use full mode)

WTF are they thinking making the movie smaller when the little thing come up when you move your mouse. Just leave it how it is so it dosent have that retarted click thing going on.

ok, thats it for now

I have it and I like it tRaptor, especially the fact that I can dock the controls to my taskbar. If it matters, I didn't D/L it, it was part of the Plus! DME that I picked up.

I love it - The docking to the taskbar is cool, and I like using it over Winamp. It just has bettter features.

WMP never got better after 6.4. WMP7+ consumes way too much system resources for me to consider installing it/ them.

even wmp 8 did the skin change in full. nothing new😛 i just don't go there.

No it didnt, it opened right up into skin mode. WMP9 Opens the full thing and then pops into skin mode.

I hate it, but unfortunately WMP 6 and 7 won't play everything, nor will WA3 even w/ WMP9 and codecs installed.

Um... WMP 6.4, which comes standard w/ Win 2K. Or BSPlayer. Or Winamp 3.

Baloney! I've never met an AVI or an MPEG I couldn't play with WMP 6.4. Or Winamp 3... (And I download a lot of movies with p2p progs.)
You just need the right codecs installed. DivX, Xvid, the nimo pack...

Tried everything I could. Eventually popped WMP 9 on and they worked.
Luckily 99% of them also worked in WA3 after installing WMP 9, else I'd have just gone without movie rips 😀

I had it. Uninstalling it doesn't really uninstall it. I tried uninstalling it, then reinstalling version 8. It said 9 was installed.

I resintalled Windows, and now it's gone.

how so? i tried winamp 3 and that was bloatware totally. some pretty skins, but totally nonfunctional user interface on em, ick. how is it better then winamp 2?

No it didnt, it opened right up into skin mode. WMP9 Opens the full thing and then pops into skin mode.

must be too quick for me to see.

Try a few more skins. There are many good looking and useful ones, but also many flaky ones that will drive you nuts.

Ditto, and on an Athlon 700 running Win2k...not the speediest thing around.

WMP9 must have come with a lot of common codecs. But, hey, that's the point of having a powerful machine, right? So you can run bloated programs with memory leaks and such without worry! Heh heh. 🙂

Because i play more than just mp3s.

WA3 sux imo. Has a lot of problems with codecs. Displays some movies upside-down, corrupts audio, and more.

I prefer WMP9 for videos, and i use Creative Jukebox with Creative Remotecenter for music 🙂
