I am not talking about mud slinging adds which have been around since the beginning of our Democracy. What I am talking about is how the Republicans ran fake candidates for the original Republican Senator Recalls and how they launched a premature Recall for Walker so he could whore unlimited Koch bros funds.

Agreed, been singing that tune for quite awhile now. Why anyone would think that any one party or ideology has a sole monopoly on the right answers boggles my mind.

I don't give a damn. The system was written hoping to NOT have a party system. By the third term we had 2 parties. Yes. But it did NOT start that way.

When it started has no bearing on whether it is right or good.

I think that is more of a statement of people seeing how bad Obama really is. It's like saying, you know, the last guy wasn't so bad.

The OP post only shows that there are still some politicians that vote based on principal and not party lines. It has nothing to do with him sticking it to one individual, it has to do with trying to keep the system from being gamed by one side or the other.

History has shown that when one side of the isle tries to impliment a policy that favors them, the other side will eventually use it too.
 
The California recall of Governor Grey Davis is not very instructive. Grey Davis was doing a fairly decent job, the real problem was grid lock in the California legislature. But when the people of California were very pissed and the only way to send any message.
Meant the the sitting Governor of California, regardless of party or politics, was going to get the ole heave ho because he was the only smuck the people of California could dump on.

For the real California message, we must go back a decade and a half, to the GOP administration of Governor Pete Wilson. Who got this bright idea, to increase the white vote, was to play the race card against Hispanic Californians. Point granted, some of them were illegal immigrants, but the law was so poorly written that it meant Hispanic Californians who were legal State residents couldn't send their children to school or get the same health services as whites.

As a result, California and all its huge number of electoral votes have not gone GOP ever since.

And that is what Gov. Walker is risking in Wisconsin by declaring class warfare. Wisconsin has a proud progressive record, as championing Woman's rights, the primary system, and workers rights. Its no longer about just Scott Walker, when we are talikng the future political direction of the State of Wisconsin. Even if Scott Walker survives the recall, its going to poison any GOP cred for a substantial number of Wisconsin voters for decades and decades to come.

No, it's more of a statement that the approval ratings of basically every president rise when they are no longer in office. In fact, I'm not aware of a single one this has not been the case for.

The article has been updated 3 times that I know of.... first one that Ausm linked was all excited about one of their own starting the recall. Now it has progressed to what it is now. My link was correcting him but it has been sence covered up by the link because they don't even leave the original article up.

As for Ausm talking about how dirty Rep. are there is talk out there and I'm sure we will find out more down the road about people being asked to sign petitions for we are Wisconsin a week ago already and that is before this was even filed.... how dirty is that?

Any way you look at this it is a crying shame what the unions are putting this state through. And yes it is the unions and the money all our dam dues go to.... think about that one.

Here's the thing though. I am not a member of the Republican party, I don't send them money at the national or state level. I don't send money to ANY political organizations or candidates, I don't subscribe to ANY political websites, blogs, etc.

I think my credibility about drinking the kool-aid is a little better than yours since you admit to donating to the DNC, Democrat Party of Wisconsin, Moveon.Org, and something else I can't remember..
 
Nothing Walker did warrants a recall. He should've included all public sector unions in his collective bargaining changes, but that's not an offense worthy of recall.

I didn't vote for him the first time, won't vote for him in the future either.. for the reason I just mentioned. Either all public unions should get these changes or none of them. It's saved some money, yes, but it could've saved a lot more if police/fire unions were reformed in the same way others were.
