I'm like you

Totally agree: no text labels for me, small icons, consolodate bars, etc.

I am the same as you. I remember IE 4 used to have those big icons for the back, stop, refresh, etc. buttons. I always used to make them tiny. And I'd never get the google toolbar, it just takes up space.

Everyday the OS X starts looking better and better and I hate Macs.

It does get in the way damnit! See! You're using up two rows of toolbar real estate rather than my one. I have managed to fit GT on one bar, but it just wasn't as functional and my Address bar was really short and I like to see the full URL as much as possible.

Yeah. I think I've hit my limit with XP in terms of invasiveness from M$. The next time I upgrade I'll go over to linux for my main rig and be totally windoze free. By then gaming support will be even better anyway.

That is my question too. Reason? Dolla dolla bill yall. They want to rape people on hardware costs. Hell, I'm still surprised that no one has managed to port the damn thing to x86 yet.

I have frequently used links where you put your google bar, like AT, yahoo mail, and a couple other sites I pretty much check all the time. Just set your home page to google.com. When you want to google something do Ctrl+N, and type your search hit enter. Probably faster than moving the mouse all the way to that bar. At least with my laptop, avoid mouse as much as possible.

Looks like some good improvements in IE7: pop-up blocker and download manager.

Still no tabbed browsing.

Isn't that done via the taskbar grouping since WinXP?

nah, i find that more annoying than convenient. crazy browser is great. if only IE would do it internally. but there's still lots of time so who knows.

Before GTAudiophile comes in complaining about Apple not porting the OS, remember that Apple is a hardware company; selling software will be the end of them.

Google's toolbar is excellent for finding instances of text within a page as well. Better than Ctrl+F.

I really don't understand the use of the sidebar. Come on, who here wants a constant slideshow of pictures, a huge analog clock (when right underneath it there's a "digital" clock), or whatever junk MS wants to put there. There may be no end to this madness!

A few simple changes to revert back to classic mode. I never could adjust to the Windows XP menu. Classic forever! :)

OTOH, you would be surprised at how many people prefer the AOL cartoon look, still run 800x600 on a 19" TFT (biggest sin in the book), etc. Unbelievable!

It would be like someone buying a Porsche 911 Turbo as a daily commuter, never getting out of 5th gear or over 60mph.

Cheers!
