Any hints as to when the 3d hardware accelerated GUI will be enabled?

the screenshots look exactly like xp. I heard longhorn was supposed to be a huge windows change, not just another facelift...

This isn't really big news. A few other earlier builds of the OS have been leaked also. Longhorn final will be great but that isn't due till last 2005 or later. I am sure this early build is very buggy and unstable like has been said about other releases of Longhorn.

To all you complaining about how the OS looks:

I bet you guys all got the $10 blue keyboard cause it "looks cooler"

The colours of the GUI do not make or break the OS. I'm sure you'll be able to skin/theme it, and there'll probably be a "Windows Classic" option too.

What I'd really like to do is run X on a win machine.

Am I the only one here that minimizes as much of the toolbars and navigation buttons as I can to maximize viewing area for data or am I a dying breed? The back and address bar in IE7 in those pics takes up like 15-20% of the screen real estate!
