what's the difference between 32 and 64 bit? I've been using 32bit but my system is capable of 64bit....just need a reason to try it out.

I can report that the Intel 855 chipset is still not supported in this version.

THat would be like hoping for support for nforce2 or 3. It's not going to happen, my friend.

Anyone find an antivirus that works? All the ones Ive tried (norton 09, kapersky) get rejected as incompatible.

I use Avast with no problems.

I use Avast with no problems.

I was gonna post ive used AVG and Avira sucessfully, but im running 7077, not 7100.
But i assume both are compatable with 7100 also, or are at least the best ones to try first.

I assumed norton was compatible too because it was compatible with 7068 and below, but it seems to have changed.

Good info to know.
Thnx for the heads up.

I think im waiting the the official RC anyway, hopefully we'll have more choices that are compatable by then.

Dang. MD5 didn't match.

Not good.

Downloaded a different torrent. Still getting a different MD5. Gonna wait for Microsoft to officially release this one.

yeah good idea... maybe the md5 listed on neowin isnt the correct one anyways?

I have never been so gung ho on upgraded windows like this (I like vista a swear) but, do you think later builds will be better to install? Would they expire same time as RC?

Installed 7100 64b and it works fine. Not ground shaking from 7057 (actually), and simply better than the MS free original public rc in that they added the gadgets, wallpapers, themes, ability to manual add search providers, and a longer expire date 3/2010.
Other than that, I see nothing extra that would shake most worlds.

Oh, the same keys DO WORK with 7100 as well as all the previous releases.

I think MS gave away the original release and leaked the updates simply to avoid the mess with the vista final release.
Few programs and hardware worked after vista was released for sale.
It took vendors such a long time to play catch up.

By releasing Win7, vendors could prepare, and end users could begin the rant to vendors for updated software and drivers. Hopefully by the official Win7 release, most compatibility issues will have been resolved. Hearing red eyed rants from end users might just be the thing to kick vendors into gear with driver and software updates before the price tag is added to Win7.
If vendors snooze, they lose. People will simply jump to software Win7 ready to go.

I think MS knows exactly what they are doing... We end users will be the ones to benefit.
