so far my biggest gripe is windows messenger resting on my taskbar, I have not figured out how to get it to go to the place on the right where other icons hide

There is a work around for that one... Go to Messenger's Compatibility tab and put it in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode. It will move to the notification area.

My main complaint is is more of an IE8 thing. How can I easily add a website to the jump list? I have three sites I like to keep pinned on the jump list, but I can't reliably get them to show up on the frequent list to pin them.

You can drag a Favorite onto the IE icon and it will pin it to the jump list.

This has irked me about Windows for a long time (not just Win7), but now it really annoys me after having used OS X for a while: mouse wheel scroll behavior.

I use the wheel on my mouse to scroll a lot. I firmly believe that the mouse wheel should scroll whatever is directly under the mouse cursor. In OS X it does this, even if the window under the cursor doesn't have focus!

I can help with that one, use the program wizmouse.

It is free and installs no extra programs.
Works great on win7 x64 RTM

Thanks for the tip. I just grabbed this app and it will be useful to me.

wow works great... never thought to even look for it. Though love it in linux/mac

WHOA. Wizmouse is awesome. I had tried a few of these scroll type programs in the past but they were crappy. Wizmouse works great.
Thanks:thumbsup:

No classic menu. At least that I can find.

effing this. i dont care what anyone says either. it was in vista, so why the HELL is it not in 7?

i want to say other things, but people have already mentioned them in the thread.

MS always seem to leave out the little things. being able to move things around in the taskbar - took till win7. i'm still waiting for em to sort out folder views.

Not really a win7 complaint directly; but is there a way to make the default installation path something other than your boot drive?
I also hate when windows puts like some random ass downloaded file in like c:/documents and settings/users/admin/not an admin/ben/hidden folder/temp/system32/dontclickme/downloads/stuff u just downloaded/my downloads

Shouldn't happen in Windows 7, you have a Downloads folder than defaults to c:\users\username\Downloads and it's trivial to change that location. Most programs seem to respect this convention but if they don't it's hardly fair to blame Windows.

Installed it yesterday at home on Win7 x64 RTM and it rocks!

Nothing but happy with windows 7 I am really interested in problems people are having but none of the gripes listed really apply to me.

when you have 2 rows of files in list view and you click the right side files instead of being able to double click the whole row moves to the left side thus you have to move the mouse to double click the correct file

MS doesnt care about how you guys gripe they just need your money when you buy Win 7 the more gripes Bill Gates get richer.

I had posted this before but maybe it will be seen by more people

Odd problem, I noticed this in the windows 7 rc but figured that it was part of that but now that I have installed windows 7 rtm I notice the same thing happening

What happens if I double click on a folder with sub folders it will expand but it will jump the folder down to the bottom of the explorer window

Below is a post of what is happening

This, have it running in a loop
first I double click on help and it opens but moves help down to the bottom of the screen. then I double click on servicing and same.

On vista it will open the folder but keeps it where it is

The more Bill Gates gets rich, the more his foundation does. I'm fine with that.

I miss having the 'desktop' link in the new file selection windows. It's hidden under favorites and is an extra step.
