Window seat or aisle seat on transatlantic flight

Window ... preferably in an emergency exit row (extra legroom!). I like to rest the heat on the wall too, and prefer to climb over people as opposed to the alternative. I just like looking out too.

aisle

if you want to have a crappy 7-8 hours, get on a transatlantic 747 and get the middle middle where you have 2 people on both sides of you

i did that once, it sucked

Option 1: Aisle seat, gives you easier access to the bathroom and more elbow room.
Option 2: Window seat. Only take it if you get one where you can look out at the wing. This gives you the best chance to see if a gremlin is destroying the engine.

best seat in the house! Only requirement is you must know how to speak English... or just memorize: "I understand". 😉

It's a Continental flight, I have no idea what kind of plane.
Do you know the flight number?
Not yet. I just called the travel agent this morning and she said I'm confirmed for the flight but I do not yet have the info because they are still finalizing my hotel.

I would get the aisle seat since I'd probably be drinking lots of water and would have to be peeing constantly. Drinking a good amount of water throughout the flight helps minimize the effects of jet lag, at least for me.

Ask for extra blankets because it will be damn cold. Don't wait until the time comes because everyone else would have asked for extra blankets beforehand. Have a good flight.

Nothing to see at night when it's dark, nothing to look at over water . . at night.

5 minutes after takeoff and before landing is all that's predictable to see anything . .
unless it's still night.

I usually get the aisle on the window side. I don't feel squished in and I can still look out during landing/takeoff.

If you are planning to sleep, Window is way better. People/carts going by you on the aisle always wake me up

Aisle, i'm 6'7" ... I need whatever leg space I can get.. most people recognize this so its not a problem, but sometimes I get screwed. I should sue.

Another thing, anyone notice how much nicer the planes are on international flights? Not only do you get to watch television but the seats are much nicer. I think we were served like 2 full meals on the flight, sorta ridiculous.

Also I saw 2 different versions of first class, the first was a normal first class with large comfortable chairs. Then there was another version I have never seen before. The seats were like in cubicles where you could have meetings or layout and sleep, was pretty cool.
