Asians are just pissy that we don't have something like a black history month. We feel left out.

I kinda see where the original poster is coming from. Asians don't have a whole lot of representation in the media or otherwise, so we tend to be stereotyped quite heavily, especially in areas where the asian population is small. The original poster is simply ranting that the stereotype that a lot of people have about asian men (dorky, thick accent, no style, can't dance) is perpetuated PERFECTLY by Will Hung. And it is. But that's no reason to hate the guy and say he's a disgrace. Ok so he's a dork and he doesn't exactly help the image of asian men in America. He's not the first and certainly not the last. He's captured the hearts of many because his attitude is refreshing when compared to those wallowing in self-pity and angry at the world for their failures.
One interesting thing i've noticed is that african americans support their own MUCH more than asians do. I think that's a cultural thing, though. Asians are very self-critical of themselves and take the stance that each of them individually represents the group as a whole. For example, if OJ Simpson was asian, the asian community would be ashamed of him and would feel partially responsible for his actions. However, they would NOT assume he was innocent or give blind allegiance/faith because of his ethnic background. African americans, on the other hand, stand by each other seemingly unconditionally. Part of that I'm sure stems from a cultural attitude that they need to stick together to survive--obviously a byproduct of their history. If William Hung was african american, he would likely garner MUCH more support from the black community than he's getting now from the asian community. And look at Omorosa from "The Apprentice." As much as most hated her, she still had a LOT of support from the black community. Whether that's ultimately good or bad is up to debate, but it's very evident that cultural differences abound in today's society.

Ummm....huh? If I see a black drug dealer, I don't think "holy crap, everyone's gonna think all black people are drug dealers". Last time I checked, the world's full of individuals who happen to be from certain places in the world. Stop whining about one guy messing it up for everyone.

He is a kid. a kid who had a dream, took a shot and is enjoying a bit of lame azz fame.
The majority of people in this world dont give two flying sh!tz about where prople come from or what color they are. The majority of of this carp is started by a small handful.
I must ask how you know William Hung makes all Asain people look bad. Did you ask all Asain the people in the world? If you think that William Hung makes you look bad then that is down to you and your personal issues.
