I'm honestly surprised that so many people do vote. The choice is between a guy who claims to be looking out for the rich, but is only looking out for himself and a guy who claims to be looking out for the poor, but is only looking out for himself. Or you can vote for a 3rd party who claims he's not part of the establishment and wants to take care of real people, but is only looking out for himself.

Show me a person worth voting for and I'll vote. Toss up the same collection of whores who will say whatever the people funding their campaign wants them to say and I'll keep staying home.

I agree with you to some degree about the candidates. However it is the ballot initiatives and bond issues that really interest me. Voting on those issues really does matter....especially if you're a property owner.

Sorta. In midterms, yes, the majority does not even vote. But in presidential elections the majority of eligible voters do vote.

No. This would tell the government that you don't really care about voting and you'll take a paltry amount of money for it. It's basically telling them that you're ok with exchanging freedom for money. Most government corruption that we try to fight is basically exactly that. Our rights being removed in the name of money.

Not that voting actually accomplishes anything anyway, but I would not give up that right.

Lot of people choose not to vote because they hate the current system, and while I don't blame them, I say, at least go vote for green or other oddball party or something. If there is an influx of people voting for these oddball parties it sends a message.
