With a GTX 295 in my system now and NO GAMES. That's right, NO GAMES worth a crap ATM I don't see the need for any new cards. DX11 is a joke currently and won't be relevant for another year or more.

Well I'm going with either a 2gig factory OC'd 5870 or a 5970 if I can find one.

So I voted 5970 later.

I need 5850 prices to drop now. I don't think my 4890 will last me til fermi derivatives (or any true midrange card ) come out of nvidia.

WTB modern version of 7600GT/8800GT! Great cards at great price! Miss those days :(

Access to the DirectCompute shaders and tessellator says otherwise to both me, and the company I work for.

After reading reviews and hearing how loud the 470 & 480 are under load and seeing how much power they suck from the wall has convinced me to go ATI this year. Besides that I want to do 3x1 (3 LCDs in 1 row) gaming and ATI will let me do it cheaper than nVidia. nVidia really missed the boat on multiple screen gaming.

I really like how strong Fermi is in the benchmarks and I was considering buying one but I wish it didn't run so hot and draw so much power. It does look promising though; maybe next gen nVidia will make it competitive with it's power drawl and heat dissipation.
