Will there ever be RTS's as good as C&C and StarCraft?

I keep reminiscing about these two games recently. Sadly a large portion of the good memories of my youth revolve around these two games.

Anything good right now? I played the C&C Tiberium Wars or Tiberium Sun, whatever that was called. It was decent until the aliens came into play.

Nahh blizzards still got it, i dont know what it is about that company but with all the people who have come and gone over the years they still churn out genre defining top notch games. Amazing stuff.

I said it before and ill say it again starcraft II will do for the starcraft universe what warcraft III did for the warcraft universe, flesh it out and make it great.

It's alright, but lacks 90% of the atmosphere that the original had, and was where they really began to sacrifice single player in favor of the Battle.net.

Warcraft III was pretty good.

and always liked those more than Starcraft.

Yeah, it already exists and is called Company of Heroes. I know a lot of people would disagree, but I never really liked Starcraft.

yeah i was never big on starcraft. i loved warcraft, and C&C red alert (generals was good, as well), but i always wanted something else.

Rome: Total War is fantastic, and is one of my favorite games ever. Company of Heroes is great and blows any C&C game out of the water, IMO.
 
I could never really get into StarCraft either. I've spent far more time on both of the Relic RTSs (Dawn of War and Company of Heroes).

Company of heros is a great game but relics lack of quality control means that when you get opposing fronts you have to download a zillion patches. It took me threeddays of patch down loading before i could play. THen when i was downloading a patch i accidently shut down. Well the patch must have been screwing with important windows files cause i had to wipe my main hard drive. I will not buy another relic game.



I bought Halo wars for 360 and i was a bit worred as strategy gameplay generaly sucks on console. But they did a really good job of combining strategy with simple gameplay. The cut scenes were extremely impressive and i hope they do another game like this for pc.

Blizzard sold out to the masses of MMO whores. Their newer games are Sims variants for the I'm-too-cool-for-The-Sims crowd.

Gotta agree. The only thing Blizzard has produced over the last several years has been WoW. Which is still utter trash, catering to the Sims players of the MMO world. From time to time, I test out the trial to see if the game has improved, and each time the answer is no.

Diablo 2 was fun the first play through, but after you've seen all the cutscenes, there's no replay value at all. On a modern system, its virtually unplayable because of its lock to 800x600 resolution.
 
Company of Heroes was the shizzle and really pumped up a failing genre, if you ask me. Hopefully SCII will be good, but I'm tired of hearing about it: I'm ready to play it.

I didnt like supreme commander. It was very hyped up but didnt deliver.
 
People who compare WoW to the fucking Sims obviously have not played both games. That's a flat out dumbshit comparison.
