Will the term "LCD" eventually replace the term "monitor"?

you do realize that staring at a 85hz refresh screen with a 60hz light system above your head will give you the same effect, right? at least if the monitor is the same refresh as the flourescent lighting you arent getting multiple freq flashes. 60hz is fine for most everything

My mother-in-law has a "flat" CRT and she calls it a "flat screen". I guess, technically, she is right, but 99.9999999% of people would assume she means a LCD and not a monster unit with a "flat" face.

Yeah.. Even 85hz gave me pains though over time esp when I switched to 100hz at home.

Pretend it's 1995? My CRTs still outperform anything currently available. I can't can't even look at LCD without seeing the backlight shimmer through the LC matrix. Not to mention, wtf type lag. So horrid!

My iphone and DS are the only LCD screens I own. I'll hook my puter to my Kuro before I resorted to an LCD anything.

but but but... LCD's are thin and light! I mean, I probably move my CRT about once every 2 years. If I had an LCD it would make that once every 2 year chore soooo much easier! I think that alone would negate everything my CRT does better than an LCD (which is everything except the weight) I wish I had time traveling powers so I could go back in time like Terminator in Terminator 2, and I'd destroy the first LCD technology. Imagine a world where I could go to Best Buy today and buy a 22" Diamontron CRT. That would fucking own so hard

I have 4 Mitsubishi 2070-SB BKs, and I will buy any I find. There has never been a better display made before or since.

To illustrate, the PQ of my 5020FD Kuro is astounding by today's display standards. Nothing else currently manufactured comes close, and since Pioneer is selling the farm, it may be quite some time before anyone sees a better new display. However, my worst 2070 has nearly infinitely more color space and grayscale. My Kuro blacks are BLACK! My 2070 blacks are BLACK HOLE!!!

My eyes bleed even thinking about LCDs.

more desk real estate for me just means more space for me to clutter so my CRT indirectly helps me keep my desk less messy.

Lucky you, I have a Trintron, I cannot ever find a Diamontron for sell, I am still happy knowing my Trintron destroys any LCD I could buy when it comes to IQ. I still dream about finding a Mitsubishi CRT for sale. That would be enough to bring me to tears
