History, so far, has shown that humans are pretty resilient in the face of our own stupidity. In fact, every dark time throughout our history has shown that humans have emerged more prosperous than before. Strongmen don’t live forever and people tend to get tired of the impact of their bs policies and actions relatively quickly.
We should ask the native Americans (north, central, and south) how well you bounce back from 'dark times'. Sometimes you don't, you just get replaced by a group more capable of violence than yourselves. Worth remembering that the US government is an anomaly. Every other government that had an overwhelming power gap from its peers attempted to conquer them.

Oh, very specifically I was responding to your comment about 'not knowing what can be done'. I believe what I'm feeling is that there really isn't anything to be done perse, other than trying to be the best you and do what you can to float to the top of the churn when it happens.

I concur. I've held the belief for a long while now that we're pretty fucked as a large-scale society. We put ourselves into a situation we're not likely to get out of barring some extreme luck. Some version of humanity will be able to reach past this time period but I don't think it's going to be in any way recognizable to us today.
Consider the possibility that this is a projection of an inner pessimism regarding how you may unconsciously feel about your own self, that you have an inner unconscious sense of doom derived from an inculcated feeling of worthlessness that is actually factually wrong. In such a case there would in fact be nothing to do, nothing that would be needed to change about the world, nothing to achieve, nowhere to go to improve. All that would be needed is to awaken to the fact that you were forced to believe in lies that there is something wrong with you. There is nothing wrong with anybody except they believe otherwise.

Pessimism could be valid regarding how difficult it is to overcome belief. But there can be comfort in knowing that nothing is really wrong other than we feel there is. It isn't just conservatives that are governed by feels. It is everybody. The problem, of course, is that we don't know what we feel because we don't want to and we don't want to know that either. Of course it means we are going to destroy ourselves for nothing if we don't face that fear. But as catastrophe nears the more people will see. Organs of perception develop out of need. Seems to me you have already seen a lot more than most.

Lol Jonathan Turley. He is basically Rudy Giuliani with tenure.

Ignore anything he says. He exists to tell the Fox News crowd what they want to hear.

That's one of the things I don't understand about him. He conned and coerced these people into this stuff, then refused to back them in any way. You'd think he'd be funding them to show his appreciation .... or to buy their silence. But no, not Mr All About His'self.
He didn't con them. They conned themselves. Every free braincell in Trump's head is occupied conning himself.

Invasion and conquering have all been pretty consistent throughout history. The native Americans in the Americas is no different. What emerged after each instance, again, was a more prosperous time and in each case it added to our advancement and where we are today, with each advancement bringing a better version of ourselves. If the society that emerges looks nothing like ours it’s because we would look like cavemen compared to them. That’s a good thing.

Lol, I presume the conquered would have a different opinion of the matter. Is the Six Grandfathers mountain improved with the faces of the white man? Are the millions of factory farmed cattle more prosperous than the millions of free roaming buffalo?

Our 'advancement' has led us right into an apocalypse of our own design, the sixth mass extinction of our planet. If/when we lose most of the pollinators, it'll lead to mass famine and the death of billions. But yeah I'm sure we'll come out more prosperous.

So, some legal theories are saying Trump could be in violation of copyright laws, because he's trying to profit off his mug shot, which should belong to Fulton County.

And there's rumblings that Donny boy is threatening to sue anyone trying to profit off his mug shot, because only he is allowed to grift.

Yeah .... It seems Donald Trump Jr. is not happy people are grifting off his fathers mugshot when HE could be doing the grifting!

It seems, Trump isn’t covering the legal bill of other Georgia defendants and in fact has told NewsMax he “doesn’t know them.”

I'm thinking Trump must have dementia considering how often he “forgets” people he clearly knows.

“Person, woman, man, camera, co-conspirator.”

“Person, woman, man, camera … um.”

“Person, Crime, Arrest, Trial, Prison.”?

“I literally just said it.”

“Sorry, I got nothin.”

It appears that many of them are getting money from GiveSendGo, which is a faith-based version of GoFundMe. GiveSendGo is great because you can literally send thoughts and prayers instead of money. I'm wondering if you get points for “thoughts and prayers” that you can redeem for lawyers?

I'd sure like to send my thoughts towards them - and if they are religious then why not just leave their faith to their religion and not worry about lawyers and such non-sense after all .... but then i suppose their religion is monetary to begin with....

How about just let know us when the Dems try to violently overturn an election they lost?
Lol.. could you just imagine the conservative uproar if Biden said he wouldn't accept the results of an election? Omg the pearls that would be clutched! And rightfully so.
But their guy says that at every opportunity and they love him for it. They even take up arms to help him tear down our Constitution.
So yes, clearly "both sides" is bullshit.

dude, mindless is as shitty as taj and brandonbull, he just sounds barely more sane than them because he just tries harder.

he is a shit stain on humanity just like them though.

~Fani Willis could've simply ignored Jim Jordan. Instead, the prosecutor told the Judiciary Committee chairman that he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Gym definitely needs to be put in his place

I don't know. Telling Jordan he doesn't know what he's talking about I'm guessing would have little effect. I believe he he's on a level of ignorance so profound no self reflective awareness of that fact would be possible for him. But we can certainly enjoy it. Guys like him, Lindsay Graham etc. remind me of hermit crabs. They can move from an empty shell of one dead creature to another.

Unlike dumb dumbs like MTG, Jordan knows what he’s doing is beyond his powers. It’s only to pander to the MAGAtard base. And faux outrage when he gets no results.

You do it not only on principle but to stand up for the people that report to her. Their lives are being put at risk. Being a leader, she must publicly show she has their back.

All the lawyers were saying that Fani blew it by going over the top. Have you seen our political opposition? That's all deplorables understand. If anybody in elected government needs a good dress down, it's that fool Gym.

Will Miss Linsey squeal?

"Attorney Bradley Moss told Newsweek, with the caveat that the full amount of evidence and witness testimony Willis will present at trial remains unknown, it "appears more likely than not she intends to use individuals such as Mr. Graham as material fact witnesses instead of as co-defendants.""

---------------------------

"Attorney Andrew Lieb said Friday's report reveals some key information long cloaked in mystery, that Graham was among one of the 30 co-conspirators in addition to the 19 indicted individuals.

"There are many possible explanations as to why [Graham] wasn't indicted," Lieb told Newsweek. "It could be that he is cooperating, there wasn't enough evidence, or just that it hasn't happened yet.

"Regardless, the Trump 'Big 19' must be thinking that he's cooperating as of this morning and the release of the report. At the very least, they need to be second-guessing every conversation that they ever had with him.""

No it's pretty easy to argue for carrying rape babies to term, if you think murder is worse than rape, and you consider the fetus a living being.

I'm in the camp that believes there's a window of opportunity for abortion where the fetus is not yet a cognisant being, (regardless of whether it was rape or not) but after that point, it is murder and should not be allowed. The argument stemming from that would be, at what point is the fetus more than just a growing mass of cells.
I notice you start with 'a living being' and then switch over to 'a cognizant being', a nice slide of hand. A human fetus is a unique human being that will acquire conscious awareness in time. So no matter how you cut it, by your definition of living human being your notion of permissible abortion prior to some indeterminate event still amounts to murder. You are really no different than those baby killing liberals. You found a way to logically justify murder. Fortunately for you the consideration that murder is worse than rape or that the fetus is a living being, are not the only relevant questions that apply and no matter how you answer them they say nothing at all about the necessity that abortion be legal.
