I'm still trying to figure why drump is considered "charismatic". I've always found him repulsive, even on the Aprentice.

I think he made a connection by validating the worse hidden repugnant feelings and backwards beliefs of his base. Things they previously needed to hide, because they were told it was idiocy or repugnant.

He hates immigrants like they hate immigrants, he hates minorities, like they hate minorities, he hates science like they hate science, and he embraces conspiracies like they do etc...

They view him as an "honest" politician, because he "tells it like it is", which is code for "he validates all my beliefs" (no matter how evil or insane).

For decades other politicians have been phony because they don't really share the beliefs even if they occasionally dog whistle them.

Controlled immigration.
Bringing manufacturing back to the U.S.

It's fun how he left off persecution of trans people this time, but maybe it was just implied, given we know that's already one of his hot bigotry points.

Short attention span will do that to a dumb ass. But yeah, Greenjeans has made that clear numerous times here.

Maybe you will read mine as I think these aims have merit. As I have said before just because a person has a good intention does not equate to properly realizing it. I read a story that may convey this, about a king so upset by the poverty in his country that he ordered poor people to be executed. You can have all kinds of positive objectives and be completely mad. Trump is a person like Midas who would wish that everything he touched turned to gold. Complex problems require sophisticated solutions which require both depth of experience, analytical finesse to , and emotional health sometime referred to as humanity.

The frustration produced by a competitive system the only objective of which is profit and atrophied by those financially successful enough to buy the political system to guarantee that, creates such desperation in a society it will jump at anything for relief. Thus we have a population so enraged with a system that fails to deliver they will vote their own misery on the suggestion it will be shared. In this way those who redirect rage will always insure they never pay off the misery of which they are the real cause.

Follow the money. Are the worthless poor stealing your money with unearned welfare? Are the poor getting rich at your expense or is all the money going to a small number of the rich? Is the money really trickling down or torrenting up. Check it out over your lifetime. The poor steal your tools to survive and the rich compete over the size of their yachts.

I've stopped caring about how imminent Donald's mortality is. The fascism will continue regardless of his state of health, because his supporters are so far down the rabbit hole that maybe the only thing to bring them back to reality would be their loved ones ending up in GQP ovens.

Donald's speeches can easily be automated/simulated at this point, or a non-personality like Vance could take over, I don't think it will make much difference to their fanatics. Maybe if he's out of the picture for whatever reason then the GQP will consume itself in a power struggle. I think there's a near-zero chance that he will make an appearance so demented that even his supporters couldn't deny there's a problem because a) his handlers will find alternative solutions before that happens (and they will have advisors to help spot the signs that things are going badly sideways) and b) even if he won at dementia bingo in the middle of a public statement, his fanatics will likely claim he was poisoned by uh Antifa!

Ideally the remaining Americans who have the foggiest idea what their conscience is telling them will do everything they can to bring sanity back to America, as soon as possible please. I don't fancy finding out what the most heavily armed nation could do the world.

Not to sure about that. His approval ratings have dropped to the lowest in history, lower than any other prez.
IF we have elections again, he's gone. Only 30% of the population remains willfully ignorant, and doesn't believe their own eyes at the gas pump and grocery store.

And the he has lost 100's of thousands of jobs. Most recently the Korean plant that ICE raided. No one will invest here, People like Greenman still think he is creating manufacturing jobs.😄😄😄😄😄😄

Not lower than any other president. Not even close. His base are fanatics. Last poll I saw, he was has bounced back to above 40%.

His approval dipped lower on his first term, than this one, and he still is here for round 2.

Past Presidents.

Trump has been busy digging his own graves from way back when. One way or another those empty graves of his have been abandoned only from him to dig fresh new ones every time he opens his mouth. Can't say whether one of these fresh ones will have him be permanently residing in as a guest, just saying that after every trial and conviction he's gone through along with being impeached twice for very solid and well supported reasons, that slimy snake has a way of squirming his way out of those ditches looking better than when he dumped himself down those holes.

When he lost to Biden he managed to convince a majority of voters that he deserved a second chance of which if logic and common sense prevailed he should've lost by landslides on top of landslides. Yet here he is marching his way to his Kingship with the folks who voted for him cheering him on like he's some kind of God given genius hero when he's already proven he ain't any such thing an infinite number of times over to be modest about it.

After he won back in '16, I never gave up thinking this guy is some kind of Houdini when it came to forcing his way into acquiring things he never deserved. He lies and people listen and take his word for it, like they've never known for him to be the quintessential Fibber-in-Chief that he's notoriously known for.

Yes, he's a fucking cockroach. He'll be alive to serve his third term in 2029 too most likely and will probably run on purple Skittles causing AIDS and win with 93% of the vote.

I didn't mean that. I'm talking if the Dems can take the house and senate in 2026, he will be gone. Impeached.

If not, do you really think he will leave?
If the GOP fucks in the senate wouldn't boot him for staging a coup they're not going to boot him for minor things like child rape, invading US cities, suspension of the first amendment, kidnapping good people and sending them to concentration camps, levying taxes on the people without congressional approval, murdering fishermen, creating a parallel Schutzstaffel to our military, and such.

I guess Obama was lower, but I think we know why.

What are you talking about now? Obama is at 68 for initial approval which is super high.

But I'm also not sure why you would fixate on the start of his term, rather than what's it's fallen to after all the nonsense since then.

But again, he still has a committed base, and combine that with election rigging, and it seems dangerous for continued GOP election wins while he's pulling strings.

Trump is first and foremost a marketing guy that speaks in hyperbole. He's made his mark by being elected to a second term, and because of his age, beliefs, and inability to run again, he's in full blown "I don't give a fuck" mode.
I'll live with it because I have no choice and I agree with many of his goals.
For all of that I still can't embrace the fundamental hate presented by the left. I'm all done with them and hope the majority of the nation is as well.
‘The left is so full of hate I have to support Nazis’ is quite the take.

Imagine the fit you would be having if Biden did one of a dozen things Trump has done.

Guys, of course he is not leaving at the end of this term or if he is it will be to fix things for a handpicked successor to keep him out of prison.

We have literally seen this movie already - he attempted a coup last time. He will do the same thing again.

I can't imagine the reaction if Biden just said he stopped the war between Aber Baijan and Albania much less fucked kids or created a new Schutzstaffel to go and kidnap brown people to send to concentration camps.

Impeached just means IIRC a majority of members of the house vote nay but removal requires a subsequent to successful house impeachment 2/3 vote of Senators. That means the POTUS was successfully impeached but wasn't actually voted out of office. Unless the senate overwhelmingly voted for removal.
