Pikmin 3
Zelda Windwaker Remake
Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag
Batman Arkham Origins
Watch Dogs
Rayman Legends
Bayonetta 2
Splinter Cell Blacklist
Lego Marvel Super Heroes
Super Luigi U (DLC for NSMBU)
Earthbound/Super Metroid/Super Mario World on virtual console (old but good titles)
Lego City Undercover (already out)
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (already out)
Mario Kart (confirmed for 2013)
They also expect to be able to ship Super Smash Bros before the end of the fiscal year
Wonderful 101 doesn't have a date, maybe know more around E3

not quite 20 but even discounting the virtual console titles, I count 15 potentially depending on whether a couple get pushed back. Many will be available on other systems, nothing was said about exclusives.

I don't see a price drop yet and I don't see a PS4 being more than ~$500

if i owned a wii-u, not 1 of the games in your list would be on my "to buy" list.

Cause you are bias toward Microsoft. This is well known. Anything Microsoft does you defend and no matter what, Nintendo sucks. Too predictable.

A lot of people are way too unreasonable. There are games coming, many good ones but its the cool thing to just hate on Nintendo all day now. Many of these games are highly anticipated exclusives, but since they aren't dedicated to blowing up people in multiplayer you downplay it as if they all suck.

Remember I hated on the Wii u too. On this very forum no less. I did my research, finally got one and played it, and what do you know... I like it. No it isn't for CoD players, but its not what you make it out to be either.

lol i have no bias at all toward any company. i play games on every console and own all of the current gen consoles (360, ps3, wii). i purchase a console as soon as there is a game on it i want to play. and as i said, not 1 of those games are one i would purchase.

why would i limit myself based on a company name? that makes no sense. i play any game that i like.

it's hilarious that people get so butt hurt over varying opinions on these boards. it's only a select few though.

i think the last first party 360 game i bought was halo 4, which was meh and i didn't even play it online. well actually the last 360 game i bought was forza horizon, but only because it was $15, open world, and less sim style, similar to burnout paradise, which is probably my favorite racing game. other than halo 4 and forza horizon, the past 3 years i've only bought capcom or netherrealms games.

well except for the ps3 exclusives i've bought, like sly cooper, uncharted 3, ratchet and clank: crack in time, and probably a couple more. damn how could i buy ps3 games if i have such a microsoft bias?

Really? You didn't like the Arkham series or Mario Kart?

haven't played arkham, although i know it is very good i just never got around to it. the thread on these boards recently reminded me that i need to play it though. even though, if i was into it, i wouldn't get a wii-u for it, i would play it on a ps4 or durango.

and mario kart has not been good since snes, unless you like being handheld while you race.

I liked Mario Kart for N64, DS and Wii... but I agree it probably isn't a system seller.

And good point about Arkham, it's likely a lot better on PS4 or even PS3.

mario kart on ds was the only other decent one to me. i was very disappointed with the n64 one and it's declined big time since then. you could master the n64 one in about 2 hours. there was nothing more to it and it had no sense of speed. such a let down. the ds one tried to go back to the routes, and it was a solid game, but it still had a huge easy factor to it. i also just am over handheld gaming in general. i don't wanna be staring at a tiny screen when i'm at home with a 60" and 120" screen that i can game on.

I kind of agree. Felt like the DS one took the most skill because you could snake through the course and overcome the built in handicapping. Online if you didn't snake, you'd probably be losing most of your races. I think I'm a nintendo fan. I like their characters and some of the risks they've taken. I just don't think they've made a good console (not counting the ds) in decades. I will admit the wii is an awesome social system. If you get together a lot with friends there's plenty of games and they're easy to pick up by everyone. No one's left out.

Wii U is by far the worst system I ever purchased. Purchased it on launch date and it has about 40 hours of use according to the log.

Nobody said buy a Wii U for it...but people with a wii U might buy it over the PS3 version because of specific gamepad functionality.

The claim was "I don't see 20 games" I didn't get to 20 but I gave 15 solid releases.

That's still quite a disappointing list overall for a YEAR'S worth of software, and Tom's original statement looks wildly off base.
This is just my opinion, but I think 3rd party, multiplatform titles are misleading, since they RARELY ever include anything to play to the more powerful/newer console's strengths. In other words, it's no real incentive for folks already with a PS3 or Xbox 360, saving their pennies for PS4 and Xbox8.

What you're left with then, is:

Zelda WW remake
Mario Kart

...maybe SSB.

I think it's a stretch to include DLC for a year old game and VC releases of 25 year old games.

Granted, games like Batman and Watchdogs will likely be awesome, but IMHO, not system sellers.

There are people who don't have a PS3 or an xbox. Some of thsose people will buy the more family friendly Wii U for its family games as well as COD, Madden, etc.

I didn't say it will have 20 good exclusives. I said it will have 20 good games.

People thought the Wii would be a flop. People thought the 3DS was a flop. How did they turn out ?

I thought the Vita would be a flop. And the ipad. So I'm batting .500. ;)

Vita outsold 3ds in Japan in March. Thanks to a price drop and some interesting software lined up. 3DS sold over 31million as of April 24 and managed to move 91million software.

you keep running in circles there really is no point in trying to have an actual discussion with you about this stuff.

Too early to tell. On Nintendo's side is the ultra-cheap cost of the hardware. All it will take is a few of their major series releases to salvage WiiU to profitability.

Zelda (a new title, not a quick revamp)
Mario full-fledged title (not a quickie side scroller port from a DS/3DS title)
Smash Bros
Mario Kart
Metroid

Cover those bases alone, and you've got a dedicated following who will most definitely jump on WiiU. The problem with WiiU is largely that they launched with NONE of those bases covered, which is astonishingly stupid. Fixable in time, but stupid.

I'd jump on it for Zelda/Metroid/Mario alone.

Besides, it's failing so miserable that if it dies, it would be extremely easy and attainable to have a complete game library.

Cause you don't have an imagination when it comes to games.

Anything that even looks like it's childish and doesn't have "burn your eyeballs out Crysis 3 melt your PC graphics" you bash. Like I said, you are predictable.

The problem with the Wii U is it's just too similar to the 360 and PS3. The tablet isn't really that good of a gimmick as the motion control on the Wii was. I mean, if people want to game on a tablet, they'll game on an actual tablet.

That said, a lot of people I know really like playing the Wii U. Though many do feel it's just not different enough from the Wii (in terms of types of games) to justify actually buying one. Nintendo has always relied on their core franchises to sell hardware. Many of those games continue to dominate "best of all time" lists. Though I don't think Mario and Link have the same pull they used to.

I'm still on the fence whether Big N should go software only. You only have to look at Sega. The company has put out a few fantastic games in the post-Dreamcast era but they've also pooped out a lot of turds. Nintendo is still raking in about 7.2 billion yen in income compared to Sega's 1.5 billion.

That's the thing, you aren't gaming on a tablet. That's not how it works at all. The way the good games use it is so you don't have to ever pause the game and run through menus or leave the on screen action to look at a map or your inventory.

I think it's too much to ask for 3rd party devs to make real use of this though because it's easier to just port the game over from the Xbox or PS3 and maybe up the texture resolution a bit due to the increased VRAM. Then you are just mirroring the game on the gamepad screen. It sucks, but that's how it'll probably be for a while. What may change this is if they start selling a lot of systems due to Smash Bros/Mario Kart etc. If the sales start to jump, I think devs will get interested more. Right now it's a tough sell, to developers and consumers. Kind of a catch 22. People want games so they won't really jump in, those who did know what they're jumping into. Devs want people to market their games to and since people aren't buying it, they aren't working on much original content.
