Nintendo sure is putting the spotlite on the Wii remote and nunchuk. It's unique and will probably find its niche in certain games but not all. I was ready to bash Nintendo as quickly as the next guy for coming up with a crippled controller when I read the specs of the Wii. It turns out the Wii will be backwards compatible with the Gamecube controller and saving the day.
It's clear that the Wii remote lacks button count. We all know gamers love to push shiny buttons. The more the merrier. The remote has a measely two. Regardless, it would be far too awkward to hold the remote in the traditional two hand configuration due to it being thicker on the right side. I don't believe it is ever meant to be used in this way.
Also, I would think your arm will tire-out if you have to constantly swing the controller.
I stole this pic. I think that controller will be the main controller for the Wii or something similar to it.
