I would suggest that you cut up all of your cards and not get any more until you can mature as a couple.

You don't pay interest charges if you pay the balance every month. I can't get over the fact that you don't know that, well actually I can because I realize you are either an idiot or too young to even be up at this hour.

yes. she works but all her money goes to the mortgage payment for our new house, her lexus SUV, and house utilities that's pretty much all of her money.

i'm suppoes to pay for the mortgage of my old house, all the bills, gas for all the cars, food..etc something's gotta give

i've already cut the netflix plan to the lowest. i'm going to kill my cellphone next.

Oh God, how will you guys manage, poor thing

Two houses and a Lexus...that's a tough life.

Some of you guys need to learn more about your women before you commit. Even if I handed my GF $3000 for her birthday, she'd put it in her savings account, or towards tuition, etc. She spends $20 on jeans and $30 on dresses and manages to look fantastic doing it. I don't see that changing 5 or 10 years down the line when she's an engineer making 20x more per year than she does right now.

Here is a suggestion:

Set-up a joint account from which you pay all of your routine monthly costs - mortgages, car payments, insurance, utilities and groceries. Figure out how much this is (err on the high side) and both contribute half of this amount to the account each month. Pay all of you joint expenses from this account. This eliminates conflict over who is paying for what and puts you into a team mentality which seems to be lacking.

The amount you each have left in your own accounts can be spent on starbucks, clothes and scooter helmets.

The only other thing you have to figure out is how to funnel cash into your emergency fund which you are obviously lacking.

easy solution: put her in a budget and put the $ in an envelope for her

I disagree. Married relationships shouldn't be master to slave or master holds all the money and gives the slave her allowance as he sees fit.

Perhaps, but there really should be one "majority owner" when it comes to finances, especially if one member of the relationship is prone to overspending. Not as a "Ha-Ha! I control the money!" thing, but more as a restraint mechanism... Besides which... it goes the other way quite frequently, where the woman controls the money.

JAP is a normal term that kids use since school

the subject doesn't have to be jewish, but I think traditionally it started since jewish kids in NYC schools came from more affluent families than other kids.

only time people don't like being called JAP is if they don't think they are shallow and only care about name brand clothing and anything that is marketed towards them. it's no where near the same thing as calling someone n*****

hahah so you are trying to save money by cooking at home, but you are using all these expensive ingredients. I think you need to rethink about your money saving strategy.

WTF, I can understand with most of transactions from eating out, but why does she need to shop for cloth every freaking months?

I'm going to go home tonight and put a stop to this.

edit: told her about my concerns, she'll stop for a few months. hopefully. and i'll start cooking more often at home (only because her cooking is crap, and my ironchef like skill is second to none.)

she is out with your best friend...getting him all purdy and stuff.

that warm spot in your bed you joked about was his @ss actually.

cheers

Your cooking sucks, her guy friend is decked out already...

as a wife it is her account too 9 times out of 10...if you can't make her happy walk on.

considering that the stereotype is that they're stingy with money, this doesn't make sense to me.

If I said that black people were nerdy, would you call me racist?

Why the fvck did you take on so much debt? You are the prototypical stupid american consumer.

I would be able to afford it without spending sprees like what my wife just pulled this past month. I'm used to $1500 per month credit card bill, not $3300+.

$1500 per month? What do you BUY?? I'm sorry, but there is NO excuse for spending that much. Here is what expenses I'd consider "essential":

MAX $150 per person, per month on groceries
utilities
mortgage
gas (you guys really need more efficient cars, you could more than HALF your gas budget if you got a pair of Civics)
insurance

everything else is superfluous. Mind you, we all spend much more than the essentials, but if you're in financial trouble, you CAN and SHOULD cut back to just the essentials.
