Isn't it a little unnecessary to use a nalgene while driving? Is there that much risk for breakage?

if i'm driving home after a day of hiking/biking i want to still able to drink out of my water bottle while rehydrating on the way home mister.

Guys, it's a freakin' WATER BOTTLE. It's plastic, has a screw on lid with a squirt cap and it holds WATER.

Nalgene my ass. You're paying $$$ for a freakin' plastic water bottle I could buy for $.99 at the Dollar Store.

Nalgene bottles are made of Lexan, so they don't warp and are damn near impossible to break. If you're using the water bottle to go to the gym, it doesn't really matter much, but if you were to go hiking or biking with it, a tough water bottle is useful.

a friend has dropped her nalgene off a 1000 foot cliff and it didnt break, good thing since it had water in there for their 3 day trip

I'm pretty sure you *do* get a new one if you manage to break it...but no guarantee.

Then the cap on my $4 Eddie Bauer brke after 2 weeks. 🙁
