1280x720 is STILL not 1600x1200.

And, iirc, the refresh rates on TV's are lower, correct?

Yeah but then you gotta spend the bigbucks on a HDTV which defeats the purpose of getting a console for cheap gaming.

exactly!

because any one that "owns" at Halo, wouldn't stand a chance on a pc. consoles are for frat boys and little kids.

I like my PC because I like to be immersed in my game, or being ~2 feet at most from my display. I don't feel "into" a game sitting 8 feet back. It's just not the same. Keyboard and mouse are standard PC tools for gaming. I like the generally faster loading times of a PC, quick saving which Isn' in the console FPS games I've played (not very many). Also, it just feels better to me to play on my PC.

I might be the only one to agree with you, but I do, it would be cheaper.

Also, games never run too slow, like on an older computer that can't handle the new graphics.

I may buy the 360 or PS3 when they are out but I like the PC for gaming because the games can be cheaper only after a few months. Good luck with get cheap good games for consoles.

Edit: The best things about PC gaming are the mods and different levels/add ons/ extra stuffs/etc. that can be add to the PC games later. You can't do that on console games.

Because the console games are prohibitively priced.

Seriously, the games are just not worth it. And can you try it out in demo format before you buy? No. And if you bring up renting first, how much money are you spending on your rental membership? Does it compare to DL'ing a demo for free for the PC? $18 a month at BB, or free DL from fileplanet? Not a hard choice...

Consoles are not "all-inclusive". If they were, why do they still need: memory cards, steering wheels, etc...? If they were that damn good, they would not need accessories. And if they are that great out of the box, why is the mod chip community kicking it's ass and making them go through such great efforts to thwart them?

The only console I own is a PS1. I got it for $20 for my kids. It sucks but who cares, the games are dirt cheap.

I'll probably buy an oxbox or ps2, when they're $20. Pay upwards of $300 for a console? I'll let you know when I stop laughing....

edit: besides, could I be playing any modern game released, hit "alt-tab", nef this place, and go back to my game on a console?

Console freaks:

Go play Sim City on an x-box, then come back and talk to me. Seriously. Go now. I'm waiting.

That's right, it'd be DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE.

When computer parts get out of date, you buy a new part and bring your system up to date. When consoles get out of date, you buy a whole new freaking console

MULTIPLAYER COSTS MONEY. That's a biggie for me.

Controllers suck my rectum. They're uncomfortable. I played Halo on Xbox and got throughly whipped. I went to PC and was amazing. Keyboard and Mouse>EVERYTHING.

uhh not only are rpgs and fps games better on the pc, but the pc can be used for a crapload of other stuff besides gaming whereas the xbox360 or ps3 cannot.

If you want to start getting technical about it, to download the 500+MB demos nowadays, you need to pay $30+ a month for a broadband internet connection. Once you factor in gas (which I figure you'll bring up) to go rent a game for consoles, you're paying about the same to either rent a FULL game for the console, or play a short 20 minute demo for the PC.

Consoles technically do NOT need any accessories out of the box. Memory cards are a thing of choice, and that's only on certain consoles (you have heard of the hard drive craze going on in consoles nowadays, right?). Steering wheels? That's definitely not needed, a completely optional purchase just like the PC.

As for the mod chip community, why bring this up in your "all-inclusive" arguement? Consoles weren't designed with what the mod community is doing. If mods are making "them" go through great efforts to thwart them, I've been seeing this with copy protection on the PC for YEARS. Anyhow, this isn't even really an arguement for or against consoles, it has no place here.

So you're saying that you've never paid upwards of $300 for a complete PC (I'm talking EVERYTHING, innards, kb/mouse, monitor) that could play a game that looks so much than a console? Console games look good on a standard TV, something a decent PC would need to do for around $700 I would imagine.

You hit alt-tab all you want, I don't think many people want to nef this place while in the middle of a firefight on CS:S or BF2. Stupid arguement there too. If you're getting bored enough of the game to have to get out of it for a while to nef here, then maybe you should buy a console, you may like it better :p.

2) better grapgics - NO -
more features - NO they are released as the same game,
AD-Ons - currently YES however i see that changeing as they all go online, XBL for example,
Controller - thats totally an opinion,
you can use the xbox to play different music during the game also in a bunch of games
, if you have even a simple HT setup PCs dont have better sound,,
both the xbox2 and ps3 are gonna ship with HDDs, do you really need more then 10 gigs to save games to?

No, graphics DO NOT look better on a console, and that's that. Optimizations help, but you can't "optimize" something enough to run it more nicely on hardware that's generations behind, and that's where consoles are at.
Features--they DO remove features on console versions of games, and that's that. And if it's released for the console first, they often add features in the PC version.
controller--a mouse+kb gamer can aim better and faster than a joystick in a FPS. That's not opinion. For flight sim/sports/racing/RPG, yes, it's opinion.

Plus...there are more "free" games for PC, so people will always use PCs for games.

But that's just a dumbed down PC. RTS games can be played at their best on pc's. Personally, I don't like consoles because of the controllers. WASD and mouse are so much easier for me.
