Why use a PC for gaming?

If you can buy an Xbox 360 and PS3 for less than an awesome rig. Just focus on games when answering, dont give me that "you can use a computer for other stuff" crap 😉

Share your thoughts on why you prefer PCs over consoles...

Flame if you want...

RPGs are better on PCs. I'm not a FPS fan so I don't care about those. I do use consoles for sports type games though.

The PS3 is supposed to include KB/mouse support, isn't it?

The PS2 does - nobody used it.

so youre telling me i can plug in my USB keyboard in teh PS2 and it works?

Why did they add it, only for games such as SOCOM or others like it. They should make more games that utilize a KB and mouse just like on a PC

When was the last time you could upgrade hardware on your console for a new game release?

you wont need to for another 2 years...I still dont think PCs have caught up to XBOX/PS2...in most areas

Higher resolutions, and keyboard + mouse. Games where chat and teamspeak/ventrilo are involved in gameplay.

PC is pretty anti-social. You and three of your buddies aren't going to sit around the monitor to play a game on it.

What are you using for a gaming PC a Pentium II with a Rage 128 Video card?
PC games usualy look much better than their console counterparts due to the more advanced hardware that PCs use.

PS3 will use a modified 7800 type chip for graphics.
XBox uses a modified Geforce 3/4 series chip.

So we're on the same level of tech as the PS3, and 3/3 generations beyond the XBox, but PC's haven't caught up yet?

PC's have: Better graphics, more features, mods/addons (user made), better controller options, better sound, the ability to play whatever music on the PC through the speakers, more save game storage space.
The only place the PC hasn't caught up with consoles is in the ability for publishers to release finished ie: not horribly buggy games.
