-Lack of a keyboard is terrible. I sent thousands of texts and emails from my phone...no keyboard = no go.

-Lack of MMS is just plain stupid. Every FREE camera phone on the market the last 4 years can do this. Email does NOT just make this go away - not everyone out there is a computer nerd like the people here (cue the responses that getting email on your phone isn't hard....yes it is. cue the responses that you can send an email to xxx-xxx-xxxx@tmomail.com and get the same effect. Yea, because that's convenient and not a huge pain in the ass)

-Lack of cut-and-paste is annoying

-AT&T forces you into overpriced plans

-Closed system limits the potential of the device

-No expandable memory

Now, I was a big time iPhone hater the first generation, and with good reason. It lacked pretty much ALL of the advanced features of other smartphones, while charging a big premium. They fixed a lot of this with the 3G version - although its still lacking a lot of stuff, they did add a lot of big features they lacked (3G, GPS, Exchange) and halved the price. However, I still wouldn't buy one.

I have no issues doing that, but you have to watch what you're typing (no tactile feedback). It's actually pretty good at figuring out typos once you train it.

I had the 650 with Palm OS and now an 800 with Windows Mobil 6.1. I never used VersaMail when I had my 650. There are so many free apps for the Treo there is no reason to use the built in apps IMO.

Haha i don't, thus my point. You have to spend money to get decent email capability on the palm treo...that being said, it's still miles ahead of windows mobile. I've had winmo device even before they called it winMo (windows CE ) and at no point did MSFT spend more than 2 mins trying to think how people will use them.

I too prefer the treo with the keypad on the front. I ventured away from it for my XV6800 and sliding the phone open is such a hassle (because the screen turns too). After many efforts, I've decided on-screen keys suck donkey balls. You can't beat a nice, real, set of keys out in front when you just need to get to something or type something quick.

I totally disagree. I have EIGHT pages of useful apps on my iPhone (OK, SIX pages of useful apps and two pages of "useful" games) and I only paid for one (SplashID - a carry over from my Treo days).

I have a treo right now. Treo Centro. I had the Treo 650, BlackBerry Curve, Motorola Razr, and now Treo Centro all in two years. I change phones a lot.
