I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Disabling UAC is one of the most ill thought out decisions you can make; the same goes for using a root account in Linux or beginning a OSX terminal session with "sudo".
So, I should leave UAC on because I might run into someone like you that loves to mess with other people's stuff? I've been running Windows 7... pretty much since it came out, and I've never had a problem with turning UAC off. Why? Because I'm not very trusting when it comes to executing code! I don't just download some .reg or .bat file off the net and execute it because someone says it will fix my problems; I open it up and read it!
What are you going to scold me for next... turning off Windows Firewall? :\
