To answer the original queston, I think instincts, predjudices, and the media have alot to do with the way people feel about superficiality. Instincts and predjudices are bred and taught, while the media pushes their own agenda down everyone's throats.
On a side note, I remember when I was in grade school a few years back (
quite a few
). There was this black girl, the
only black girl in our school. She had polio, and she wasn't very pretty, but she was a really nice person
Well, nobody really wanted to associate with her because of her differences, but I sat with her at lunch almost every day
because she was a really nice person.
I hope I've lived my life, for the most part, with reality as my guide..... -kd5-
