i tend to find mandarin much less irritating than cantonese. japanese sounds fine and crisp. vietnamese though..... its CRAZY. if you think cantonese is annoying, wait till you hear viet! :Q

I'm the same way about Spanish.

What the? That's extremely odd... I speak Spanish fluently and I can't even imagine how anyone would think the language is harsh to the ears...

I'm brushing up on my Spanish after taking a year of Italian and Spanish just sounds flat and ugly in comparison. Annoying? Hardly. Calling any of the Romance languages "harsh" means there's a problem with your ears.

Heh, I'm Chinese but I have to admit Japanese and Korean are easier on the ears.

I was going to shove her fricking phone up her ass. I understand certain languages have different inflections which are construed differently but GODDAMIT WHERE IS YOUR VOLUME CONTROL? I find it hard to believe that this dialect MUST be spoken AS LOUDLY AS POSSIBLE.

A lot of people know the people around them don't understand the language, so they just don't bother. One of the reasons people talk with volume control "on" is because they don't want people around them knowing what they are saying.

Damn cantos. ;)

I guess I don't really seem to dislike any language...I hear korean, viet, canto, mandarin often enough, and obviously none of the romance languages are too grating...German's okay, as my friend took German for a while in college. It's all good. :)

If you are annoyed by CHinese, play Age of Empires- The Conquerors Expansion . Choose Chinese Civ.

You will start liking the language.

what does 'ki mu chi' mean in japanese?

i hear it in jap porn all the time.. *runs away*

<-- No, I didn't hear that from porn
<-- No, I don't really speak Japanese
However, it means "Feel Good", people can correct me.

Kimochi means feeling, sensation.

I think mandarin is harsher than cantonese, I dunno. I can speak a little cantonese but I think it sounds much more fluid and nice than mandarin...

there are these two girls in this PC lab that are constantly talking in those super fast nasal hums and wahh's yahh's...

don't get me wrong, I'm korean myself. I just want these girls to shut up regardless of what they speak, they just happen to speak the language that I personally think are extremely annoying. :(

it goes same for vietnamese as well... ugh.

(bitchy offensive rant of the day) GARHAHGSDHGAHS!!!!!!!

i think the same can be said for any language, whether it be english, korean, or gibberish.

I'm Cantonese and I don't think a Chinese accent is attractive at all for some reason. Girls with asian accents don't do anything for me.

What's weird is that girls with practically any other accent (English, Irish, Russian, Spanish, etc.) seem very attractive to me.

I did find that girl in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon attractive when she spoke Mandarin. Mandarin sounds better to me than Cantonese.

It seems you don't like the sound of tonal languages. I think it depends largely upon the person speaking. I find Korean can be very annoying when the women start whining when they speak and when the men get angry (or peevish) and start sounding like machine guns.
