Why Does Everyone Hate On Michael Bay?

Don't worry guyver, the joke is on us as Transformers 3 will be out this summer and Bay will be that much richer.

At least he replaced Megan Fox with a Victoria's Secret model with no acting experience, so you don't have to worry about good acting getting in the way of the large robots and T&A.

At the rate he's going, he's aiming for a solid 4.5/10 on IMDB and 7% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Rock was good. Armageddon was ok. The island was an interesting idea poorly executed. Bad Boys and II were just another line in a whole string of poorly made movies. Transformers was a pox upon the movie business. Giant fucking robots from space do not step on your birdbath and say "My bad". Nor do secret angents wear Underoos. What could have been a movie along the lines of Aliens was instead a movie made for 12 year olds and shot by the same idiots who did the Blair Witch Project.

Yea the rock was good.
The problem with bay is he can do better, he has the sway now. But he accepts crap scripts as if he were a new director that needed a job just to eat.

i don't read Rotten Tomatoes to find out about movies... i don't watch Siskel or Ebert for their review. i am educated enough to be able to make up my own mind about a movie.

Example:
I was looking forward to The Last Airbender. My wife & i are big fans of the anime. People i knew told me not to see it... it was crap... it was M. Night. Shamalamadingdong.. it must be bad... blah blah blah.

I went to see it anyways. I form my own opinion. Did i like the movie? No. It was horrendous. Do i think people who liked it are idiots? No. They're entitled to their opinion.

And now you know why they keep making crap. If people didn't spend money to see movies that everyone says is crap, just because "OMG TEH ANIME!!!1!!" then we might get more than 10% of the movies out of Hollywood not targeted towards the lowest common denominator.

most people that like this stuff like Matrix. Maybe htey like it too much, but they still like it.

the majority of those people recognize that the second one was rubbish. They may not know why, but they can definitely feel that it was terrible for some reason.

everyone else hated it even more. :\


I can't understand why anyone would go see the 2nd one if they hated the first one. I think you're creating a demographic that doesn't exist to try and prove an indefensible point.
 
All those movies were terrible. Like really really terrible. The best one is bad boys(the first not the awful sequel) and really without will smith they would be terrible too.

I saw older stuff like the Rock and Armageddon back when I was a young dumb teen (the only people that like this shit) back when my buddy worked at the theater and all of tha twas free.

I think I saw the Island on Netflix--actually had no idea it was Michael Bay. It started off not too bad, honestly, but then BAM! fucking horrible car chase! well, there goes Michael Bay.

did I go to see Transformers? lol no. I haven't seen the second one. why should I?

I watch a LOT of movies bro--I actually have "paper" that gives me some sort of credentials showing that I know what I'm talking about when it comes to film. I have a well-trianed eye, you could say.

I've written a few screenplays, myself. Do I watch only brainless action movies and cartoons as you appear to watch? no. I watch just about everything. This gives me a wide arch with which to form opinions.

I know A LOT about movies and the process of making them. This gives me tons of informed background to make my comments.

It's quite strange that you seem to assume that we at ATOT are the only people that hate on Michael Bay--this is quite universal, or that the only reason for criticizing is because it's "cool"

You probably throw around the word "elitist" a lot, too. amirite?
