Why does AMD insist on that nasty RED color theme?

Red vs Blue. hmmmmm could it be that this is why AMD opted for ATI's color?

I got one question why the hell didn't AMD just leave the Green Black color for their CPU and let the Radeons remain with Red and ATI Logo?

The Red color does not suite AMD at all. Its repulsive to see a Red AMD CPU but its not repulsive to see a red radeon card. But AMD is slowing turning the red color into something disgusting.

I don't know why they didn't just leave the ATI branding alone instead of fusing both together.

I think green was too affiliated with nVidia for AMD to wanna stick with it after they acquired red in the ATi takeover.

Personally, red is far from the top of my list of favorite colors. But as has already been stated, it carries certain psychological messages with regard to aggressiveness and speed. It's a good subliminal message to wield.

This is perhaps the biggest reason for AMD's marketing failure if you ask me. Their logo is bad and so is their color scheme for microprocessors.

Like ok when I see a green Nvidia I think GREEN Energy!!! Environmentally friendly!!!

When i see blue intel I think COOL. I think the clear skies and cool seas. The blue theme reminds me of cool and energy efficient.

When I see RED AMD I think TOO HOT. Now normally hot would be well suited for megan fox. BUT in microprocessors I think heat which is BAD.

I feel dirty seeing RED, it reminds me psychologically of wasted energy, chip running too hot, ready to burn up.

I think this has got to be the dumbest move ATI ever did and AMD inherited it and promoted it. It makes me feel dirty even though AMD chips seem to idle at less power consumption than the latest intel CPU

Offcourse the Radeon 9700 PRO was always so much better than the garbage Geforce 4 Ti 4200 and later on rubbish FX 57000 but it still felt dirty seeing the red color.

But it's true. Relatively few people go looking for benchmarks when they buy a product with a CPU. They just follow the marketing and go with i5 or i7 depending on what they think they need.

For the record, over 50% of the PC market consists of laptops, so only a tiny portion of the people actually buy those boxes. People buy specs.

Why?

Because laptop OEMs are gutless and sell on specs, not on experience. Because even when they build $1200 hardware, they infuse that price point with $300 thinking. Crank up the resolution, but use a panel with a bad color gamut. Slash the thickness, but gut the battery life. Charge four figures, but refuse to remove the spyware and shovelware that infest most OEM laptops like a bad case of fleas. Include a terrible webcam, because you can get away with saving 20 cents on the part. Improve the specs on individual parts, but don’t combine those improvements into superior products.

99% of people buy computers because Geek Squad told them to. If everyone were so cold and robotic, we wouldn't have logos at all.
