Why do weak people always turn to God?
If it works for them great. As long as I don't have to listen to them testify about it I haven't a problem with it.
I notice that there are a lot of people offended by this thread. If that's the case then why do you put yourself through the grief of reading it?
Do you mind paying for religion?
Over $1 Billion To Faith-Based Organizations
I sure as hell do.
SO what does that have to do with the topic of this thread? Believe me there are plenty of things that the government supports financially that I don't like. Same goes for those who happen to be religious.
This has to do with all the poor Christians in this thread complaining, "hey, what do we ever do to anyone? We are just poor little innocent little Christians that just want to keep to ourselves and worship who we want." Well that would be fine, but apparently, I'm now supporting their brainwash campaign. And let me tell you, I HIGHLY doubt ANY money was going toward a Muslim or Buddist based organization. Little bullsh!t like this makes people resent the Christian community. This is just another example of them trying to force their beliefs on others. And now they have the government helping them out. :|
It's not as if they are building Churches and Communes in French Guiana with those funds.
Who do you think put the "Blue Law" (can't buy goods on Sundays) in place? Why do we have dry counties (and I'm not even a drinker)? Those are just a couple of examples of Christians trying to force everyone to abide by THEIR rules. You support them, and it will only make them stronger. The stronger they get, the less freedoms you will have, guaranteed. Take a look at the Christians' history. They are not known to play well with others of different beliefs.
So I think it would be better to have the money to go build "Churches and Communes in French Guiana," instead of giving them more power than they already have here in the US.
