Why do some atheists love circlejerks on a tech forum?

How can religious people say Atheists circlejerk? The Christians fvcking go to church EVERY SUNDAY, sing, praise, pray, socialize amongst each other, pay money, etc.

NOBODY circlejerks harder than that.
 
Both sides of the argument are equally obnoxious, and it's making a good portion of the internet unbearable.

If everyone would just mind their own god damn business and not worry about others' personal beliefs, we would avoid pointless, baiting threads like this...among the other 10 or so that constantly plague the front page of this forum.
 
The other issue is associating a small majorty of one group as the majority. There are assholes everyone. Sadly, they are usually the most vocal.

Except atheism isn't trying to take away religion's rights to practice said religion. Religion is trying very hard (at least in this country it's used as an excuse) to take away the rights of others. Very big difference.
 
It could have something to do with the fact that this is potentially the first time in thousands of years that atheists can speak out without fear of being murdered by "God's children". I don't have a dog in this fight, just something I thought of when I saw the thread's title.

We do not have comprehension of how theists are capable of believing such improbable, and seemingly impossible things. Thus, in a way, we feel sorry for theists and possibly even look down upon them due to their irrationality.

the religious people are the weak minded weak willed people that have to have an invisible ghost and a paradise at the end in order for their lives to have "meaning"..
Sorry but Atheists are strong people that don't need the crutch of a religion to be good people.
We are also the people that have seen through all the bullshit and know that religion has way too many plot holes and inconsistencies to be anything other than a fairy tale.
And the Cristians are the far worst of the bunch.
They are the youngest religion on earth ( not counting Scientology which doesn't count at all) and yet they are the biggest bullies of them all with the least tolerance of others even though there are religions far older than them yet they are just false and also doomed to "hell" if they aren't Christians..

The whole thing is laughable.. to think in this modern age people are still lead by a story book when Science and Technology have proven pretty much everything they believe is WRONG and impossible.

Atheists are far more science driven people we don't believe in magical ghosts anymore than we believe in Santa Claus.
We also don't go out of our way to push our beliefs on others.
you blame the Atheists for trying to remove prayer and the words god from schools and public events,
but you can really blame that on other mainstream religions that don't like it either.

And don't think it is because we are uneducated to the churches.

Most of the like minded people like myself are very well studied on religions around the world.

I myself was raised as a die hard Catholic and attended 8 years of parochial school.
If anything this is what changed my mind on religion.

All are nothing more than a set of guidelines designed to keep the populace along a suggested set of lifestyle guidelines.

Atheists don't worship gods, they worship men, a group of them (Hitchens, Dawkins, Dennett, Harris) or the "Four Horsemen of New Atheism".

Dawkins is making a killing, financially, by convincing the world that God is not only a "Delusion", but religion is an enemy of mankind.

I guess he counts as your diety, with other like-minded Dawkin-ites.

The only difference between a Christian's diety and yours is that you can actually see him. Enjoy that man worship!

Like I said you guys can try to come up with some kind of intelligent spin on being an Atheist, why it makes you moral or enables you to live your life to the fullest, etc. But over the long-term it doesn't pan out. Religious people overall are happier, have better family lives, etc.

Science and technology don't 'prove' religion wrong. I have yet to see a journal disprove the existence of God, they wouldn't even come close to that topic. That is something you made up your mind on all by yourself. Genesis and the like has always been a stretch even before people started somehow working science into their belief system.

Overall, the Catholic church is losing alot of power. Thats what it boils down to. Look into the Prophecy of the Popes, although I don't agree in prophecies overall I think its interesting nonetheless.

Religion, Government, Science/Tech and Money are all root sources of power. As money and government and tech gain more power, religion loses power. I recognize that fact. Its simple as that. The way people spin things one way or another is just what people do. I'd be agreeing with you guys 4-5 years ago vehemently but I don't like the direction Atheists are going either.

I don't know a single atheist that worships Richard Dawkins, nor Hitchens, nor Dennett, nor Harris. They may agree / disagree with their points, but that's it.

I have yet to see a Scientific Journal disprove the existence of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

What is this shit you guys are talking about Atheists like they're a religion? Has anyone ever met someone who was an Atheist and went to Atheist Church? Every atheist I've ever met simply says "I don't believe in God". Really not much more to it really.

Stuff like this really isn't true. Alot of the greatest discoveries were made by people that were religious at the time. I'd actually argue Atheists have contributed alot less to Science then people who follow a religion.

Thats good because science has nothing to do with those either. Athiests are the ones who worship facts and science, I'm actually not the one bringing it up over and over. Just addressing points commonly made.

I hear too often of people become atheists/agnostics for the WRONG reasons (Mainly, not through reason!). It's annoying as fuck to hear of agnostics/atheists who say, "What is scientific skepticism? What is critical thinking? DERPADERP!"
