You're from Canada, a socialist country, you have a different culture, which is why someone like me is odd to you. I'm normal in America, albiet controversial, but still normal.

OMG, I want to smash you over the head with a brick!

http://www.aneki.com/richest.html -Not the richest country in the world per capita!

http://www.aneki.com/quality.html -Seems canada has higher standard of living

http://www.aneki.com/expectancy.html -You are not even on the top 20 for life expectancy

http://www.aneki.com/divorce.html -4th highest for divorce...Canada not in top 10

http://www.aneki.com/beautiful.html -Seems you dont even have the most beautiful women...

http://www.aneki.com/best.html -I like the 'best country'

Oh, and we are not a socialist country...

Everyone knows America has made large contributions to this world (especially in electronics and computers) and everyone knows America is the richest nation (for now, watch out for china overtaking in the next 10 years) but it doesn't mean you're beyond critisism. You (personally, not all americans) seem to fail to recognise the contributions other countries have made, for example, we can thank the brits for much of the technology that made the world what it is today (steel, submarines, steam engines, and that's just from the letter S :)). And we can thank the arabs and the indians for modern maths and language.

didn't chinese GDP exceed america this year

Nope. This is total GDP figures from world bank for 2005: EU is not marked no1. because we are not a 'real' country yet, just a collection of states, but that's what the USA is too I suppose.

? European Union 12,020,939
1 United States 11,628,083
2 People's Republic of China 7,123,712

This is GDP per person 2004:

1) Luxembourg 56230
2) Norway 52030
3) Switzerland 48230

So USA is still overall the richest nation

well the eu isn't a real country. wait till it has a real and elected federal government that dominates the states, and each state gives up its sovereignty, its military, and perhaps starts using an official language. france and england would have to give up their un security council seats, and well all the eu members would have to give up their seats to become a eu seat. but they wouldn't want to do that would they? meh. single foreign policy of elected federal government..the states would have no say. its nothing like the us right now.

I hope you're not referring to the Mayan sport of Pok-ta-pok.

The only similarity between basketball and Pok-ta-pok is that the goal of the game is to direct a a spherical object through a hoop (although in teh Mayan version, the hoop is vertical and not horizontal, and is made of stone).

In P-t-p, the matches could last up to 24 hours without rest. The "ball" weighed over 20 pounds. The players could only touch the "ball" with their knees, elbows, or hips. The winner of the match was honoured to be decapitated and have his head placed on a sacrifical altar as a gift to the Mayan gods. Not the loser, the WINNER.

of course, you could be talking about some completely different Mayan sport that I've never heard of :)

canada...well they are irrelevant. its not really worth the trouble to hate them.

If people can hate Denmark(no slight against Denmark) than people can hate Canada ;)

heh well atleast they are their own country. canada is like the 51st state and they know it. so they spend their time trying to find ways they are different from the us. protecting their media and stuff. trying to find their supposed unique identity..but who are they kidding;)

danes spend 2x per capita on miltary compared to canada.. go figure:p

The funniest part of this one is...I have the protections of the fine US military...and I dont pay a dime...Bend over a little more please...oh, and you are NOT getting a reach around. Bitch!

well u can think that way, but in reality u are the b*tch. hiding is easy and confortable. the flip side is that with no responsibility is no power. just whine. endless whining.

basketbal is descended more from netball than the mayan game (which was full contact and more like lacrosse)

the idea of using a basket instead of a person is attributed to a canadian

i'm not sure about dribbling

uhh maybe cause we invented it?

That is the worst arguement EVER!!!

Hmm, we invented the lighbulb, do we own it now? (Henry Woodward-1875)

Or how about Jetliners?? (James Floyd-1949)

Telephone - (Alexander Graham Bell-1874)

Ok , or even lets look at something internet usable.

Java (James Gosling-1994)

Dont give me this ****** about inventing it!

Jealousy. Nothing more and nothing less.

Jealous of our prosperity, our freedoms and our way of life.

Oh, yea, real jealous.

Like how you have no health care, a ballooning deficit, poor social structure, outsourced job, reliance on many countries for your oil uses, and you seem to think it is 'cool' to go blow the ****** out of whomever pisses you off...

The funniest part, I am still protected by your ass and I dont pay for ******!!

Jealous much?

Health care is great, social structure is wonderful, only crappy jobs are outsourced, we have an endless supplly of oil but use others and I like the fact that we can kick anybody's butt in a heartbeat.

Is this a great country or what?

actually it's quite shite

I travel abroad to foreign Countries on business, and I can proudly say I'm Canadian. Wouldn't be able to say that if I was an American. Not that I wouldn't be proud, rather, I would be concerned over my well being.

I've seen asshattery before, but someone is pushing to to such new heights that I have to call shens on the whole persona. JLGatsby, it's so obvious that you get a rise out of trolling that it makes you laughable. You're nothing more than comedic relief in my opinion. Troll on, brother. Troll on.

Yeah... imtim83 (WyteWatt) and Gatsby are bad... but I've seen equally bad posters on other places who (gasp!) aren't from the USA!!! Of course, no one cares about that, because it's so much easier to bash the US

it is probably because people don't think of Canada as a country that manipulates other gov't's, backs coups, and props up dictators in their own interests.
I suggest you look into such hits as: Shah of Iran, SAVAK, Saddam, Taliban, Noriega, Allende, Pinochet... plus many many more!

I'll be staying there again this year when I make my second trip to the Bell Canadian Open. This time though, I'll be there for both days on the weekend! :)

gee... i wonder which countries were responsible for the Nazi backlash?? WWI history anyone?

Oh, and even when America wasn't sending troops, it was sending supplies to the British. Without that, the UK would've fallen...

On the other hand, I think it's stupid to keep mention the nazi crap and it gets old. But I remember when I was in Canada, there were a lot more assholes... but maybe it was just me. Service in restaurants was quite slow and rude as well. Dunno, about Britain, but I don't think Americans are any more rude than other people. And if you think Wyatwaeag is a barometer of the American sentiment, then check this thread:

yes, because all of canada is just one giant city. don't bother to narrow it down or anything.
