Why do people hate the USA??

the majority of the people don't hate the USA. the media just dwells on the haters.

 
Its that human emotion called jealousy, covetousness. All people are too quick to demonize those they percieve superior, whether true or not.
And fact that we are the remaining super power doesnt help, nor the corruption rampant in all humans, including those at highest legislative, executive, and judicial branches. This is not an indictment of any one person, party, or office, simply observation of the human condition.
 
I have more than a few reasons that I wont say becuase I don't want a vacation. Suffice it to say we Canadians are friendly and you Americans are jerks (not talking about here, just population in general).

You say that with such certainty, but in actuality you have no idea--just like everbody else. That's why you end up sounding just as ridiculous as the media.
 
They hate us because we have 229 years of being better than any other country. Our culture is the culture of the winner. We take the good, the desirable, and the wanted, hotglue some glitter and ribbon on it, and sell it back to the rest of the world. And those foreigners stand in lines to lick it up, moaning about the horror of it all, but licking it up just the same.

I hate americans whom seem to have this self righteous attitude that everyone should like them because they happened to save us from 'the Nazis'.

How about the fact you are currently waging war that is costing thousands of lives and billions of dollars for no good reason...

Or the fact that you closed off your borders to our beef when we openly addmitted we had a cow and took MASSIVE steps to inrease the safety.

Or how about the fact that you have completely ignored NAFTA regarding a softwood lumber dispute that the United States is 100% in the wrong.

Or how about the fact even when the United States gets caught red-handed torturing inmates at various known and unknown prisons...they simply brush it under the rug.

Or how about the fact that the United States thinks they can declare anything that they want as theirs...or at least declare it so they can use it as they want. 2 examples: Northern passage, and the internet.

Hmm ,here is a few examples for you!!!

Canadians are rudest tourists, Americans nicest

Canadians aren't friendly, they just like to say that they are. You're not supposed to call yourself friendly, that's something that others use to describe you.

Also, OP do you have a link to this poll?

The US is in the news more than Canada, and being a superpower, the US abuses its power more than a country like Canada. You won't hear much about Canada torturing Somalians or Canada funding genocides like they did in Sudan, but you'll hear about the actions of the US. The US also has the problem of being very dominant economically, politically, militarily, culturally, etc. that it annoys many people.

we're not the ones taking hostages and cutting off peoples' heads. A few soldiers got caught screwing around with some Iraqi prisoners and went to the brig for it. Justice was served.
