I was browsing through some topics in here and on a lot of car threads people seem to look down upon 'RICERS'.
Now I'm not a 'ricer' but it seems like the definition in here of a ricer is to make your car look fast and built up when it's really not. I personally like to add a decal on my car and make my car look NICE with maybe a wing,.... rims, tires, maybe a exaust tip, some 10' inch or 12' inch speakers. whatever looks good /sound good on a stock car to make it look better / feel better.

All in all I say-> If it makes your car look better / nicer than it was- more power to you.

If it makes it look really sh*tty and totally overdone...well that's your fault. and whatever... u need a wh00pin. ;)

There's nothing wrong with putting mods to car that make it look nice. The problem with ricers is that aboiut 95% of those mods make the car look stupid. Wings as big that they look like they came from a 747, altezzas that look gay, "intakes" that look stupid, power-bulges that serve no purpose, stupid-looking rims (instead of nice looking)... The list goes on...

EDIT: typos

true true, but some low wings look nice, not those huge ones. And yeah i know, why would people get UGLLLY rims? you can get 15 to 17' rims that look REALLY nice in comparison to stock. ..hmm

For me, it's not the car. I've owned two Civics (86 CRX SI/93 Hatch SI) and a 98 Accord Sedan. No rice added, however. However, I did have really nice systems in all three. Real SQ type sound, not kiddie boom.

As far as the "Rice Quotient" goes, for me, it's not the vehicle, it's the "Snot-nosed self Kid and I don't care about my extremely loud exhaust and the fact we are breaking beer bottles in your driveway at two in the morning attitude" that bothers me.

The Ricer Kids of today (white/black/hispanic as well as Asian...you don't have to be a particular color to be an @sshole) are the equivalent of the "streetcorner punks" when I was growing up. We had loud POS cars too, with really loud cassette :)roll;) stereos in those days. And most of us didn't have any respect for authority, private property or manners. Same sh!t, different generation.

Well, I think you agree with everyone here, except that putting an after market fin on your car is one of the worst ricer sins there is! Adding stickers is pretty bad and anytime your wheels are worth more than the rest of the car, you need an emergency lobotomy.

why hate ricers? well lets see they get mom/dad to buy a 9-12k that has what around 120hp? then they put on $500 worht of stuff then claim they are getting like 200hp heh. or they can do a quarter in 5seconds.

Yeah that "R-type" sticker adds 25hp to your escort! (yes i have seen an r-type on a escort).

as people said its there car but when they claim that all the extra's add 50-150hp i laugh.

It's about posing--looks vs substance.

I don't hate ricers.
I think it's laughable when someone is posing.
The (sarcastic) joke in the 60's was: "Chrome it, it will go faster", b/c someone would add something visual and act like they had a fast or hot car, while in fact those who knew better saw this as posing.

Ofcourse I look down upon ricer cars. Definition of ricer is fitting wannabe aftermarket parts designed to impersonate real performance parts that actually degrades the performance and making the car look ghey in general.

Real race car wings: They actually pushes vehicle down to the ground and helps with traction. They're made with high degree of aerodynamic engineering.

Ricer wing: built to look similar to real wing. Serves absolutely no purpose other than adding drag and making the trunk awkward to use. It is not built with aerodynamics in consideration

Real HID bulb: high intensity mercury vapor lamp with lights in broad spectrums

Ricer PIAA bulbs: looks white, but it's not the same as HID bulbs. It does not have the same spectrums. It' s just a filtered out lightbulb.

Ricer turn signals/clear lenses: doesn't comply with federal motor vehicle standards, annoying for everyone else, confusing and simply dangerous.

Now I'm not a 'ricer' but it seems like the definition in here of a ricer is to make your car look fast and built up when it's really not. I don't hate ricers I just think they are foolish to spend tons of money on the exterior when they should be putting that money under the hood. For what they spend riceing up the outside they could have turned their car into a 200hp demon. :(

R-type is a game

Okay...ricers... usu. talk sh!t and have nothing to back with.
-rear spoilers that do absolutely nothing but slow your car down.
-coffee can exhaust tips.
-Type R emblems, brand name stickers (if sponsored then it's ok)
-and i'll think of more later...cuz i gtg

i guess it's ok if u're doing it for import shows and stuff, then u gotta make ur car look purrty :)
custom interior, sound system, dvd, etc... but as long as u don't race it

if you can use addons that flow with the lines of the car then sure i guess. but many times ricers use parts that just don't compliment or match the form of their cars.
