Jobs ran over their mothers, Waz ran over their dog, and NeXT's HQ was placed on their grandaddy's farm.

It's okay. I hated Macs before I used them, too.

Edit: Kinda like girls. Ouch.

I don't hate Apple. They just don't do the things that I need them to do for the price that I need them to do it at. And I do have lots of experience with them.

Clueless Microsoft haters, on the other hand... those are the ones you should be questioning.

there's no reason to be so hateful about macs/apple. it's not like the macs hurt you.

i'm a pc guy, but i gotta be honest: that 20 inch imac g5 looks pretty cool.

if it weren't for Battlefield 2 coming out soon, i might ditch it pc and go to mac.
i'm kinda sick of all the upgrading and cables on my pc.

sigh.

first of all, this parody thread gets a 2/10
i am typing this from my powerbook G4. its a great computer in every respect except gaming. that is a well known fact, and is why i have the machine listed in my sig which i take great pride in ;)
they ARE slower then the newest top of the line P4's and AMDs. i dunno about the dual 2.5GHz G5, that would give them a run for their money...but im using a 1.25GHz G4 which is snappy, but slow for encoding and gaming for sure.

apple's software is the main reason i like macs. OSX really is a great os, its diffenately not perfect (dammit when are they going to add a "print selection" feature!!! 10.4 prolly :p) but IMO its much better designed then XP. i love iphoto and final cut express; they own any PC equiv. no match.

some of their hardware is actually really nice. the design of the powerbooks=best out there for lappys. 5.5lbs, full featured 15" desktop replacement. 1" thin, nothing else even comes close. but it is slower then a similarly priced PC, they are for different uses really. my battery life blows though, like 2.5hrs max :p

 get a multi button mouse, any person in their right mind uses one.

its these kind of close minded people that give Apple a bad rep  . its like saying that a vette sucks when all youve ever used is a mustang (ok that was pretty bad)

im obviously not an apple fanboi, i own and built my own gaming XP machine but i diffenately like macs for what they are: easy to use, extremely powerfull (software wise), flexible (software wise) computers that are great for handling anything exept gaming and a few other apps.
just my oppinion, and i suggest anyone who hasnt already to read Anand's Mac articles. he does a great job of shedding light on Macs from a PC users POV
Peace,
Nick

I understand that the pricing is high for the power of the system, but what is comes with is quite nice and from what I have read this package can put it on par with many similar set-ups on the PC side (software wise). Either way it is a preference (right?), just as there are people who will not upgrade to XP and swear by 98 as the greatest thing since sliced bread. I do not understand why people use the excuse about the old school computers. Plus there schools are anything like may school they will get the cheapest set-up with no matter the system PC or Mac. Were they running OSX? In truth one of greatest friends hated the things up until they were forced to use them for two weeks. It just takes a bit of getting used to. It is different, not bad.

I just don?t get why there are people who wouldn't use a Mac even if it were the last thing on the face of this planet. The systems cant be that bad, especially if you manage to hold 2-4% (depends on where you look) of the computers in use.

I have a G5 imam. Yes I use Mac. I love the things to death. Sorry, lol

I use a dual 500 MHz G4 at work and love it. As soon as I save up some money (just bought a new bed set - wasn't too cheap), I'm going to buy a PowerBook. Either that or build a SFF A64 box. We'll see.
