Let me start by saying, I am an Indian and I work at a major insurance company in Canada. I work in life insurance and health insurance. I kid you not, everytime I am given a client with an indian name, I cringe and die a little on the inside. It's always "vhat you have and how much?" and "can you give me discount". They will always come in "shopping around" for an insurance plan without realizing that every insurance of one kind across all companies are priced literally within pennies of difference.
They don't know what they want, they don't know what their needs are, they don't care to listen to advice. All they care about is "something cheap". And once you give them that "something cheap", it's always "can you do cheaper?" and "I have to talk with my wife". When they call back, it's never to make the purchase, it's always about the dollar value in coverage for dental and then more haggling.
Often times they don't directly ask for a discount. They use them dhabba bazar flee market techniques. Seeming dis-interested, asking the advisors for details on multiple products, just a whole waste of time. The prices are NOT NEGOTIABLE. In over 1 year in this business, I have not yet actually had a legitimate sale to an Indian client. And the handful that actually bought called back with more questions and even cancellations.
Eveything in this thread about Indians being uneducated, un-hygenic, low class, etc is true. They come to the civilized world and expect that everyone is their slave. They don't want to work and want everything for free. They are maybe 1% of the business volume but require over 50% of all the time, effort, energy and escalation. The engineers are 10x worst, nickle and diming prices over the phone and telling me why a certain product is -EV in the long term. I mean, no f**king sh*t, we are a business selling financial products. You don't like it, don't buy. Plain and simple.
