Why do girls wear makeup to the Gym?

Myself, I don't wear makeup to the gym, but why oh why do Girls wear makeup to the gym? My friend doesn't wear makeup but she want's to know why too. :awe:

I've seen so many girls wear makeup, it's like they are trying to impress the males.. :whiste:

You get really sweating, and oily when your make up melts. I understand if it makes them feel more comfortable. But common sense tells you that you will sweat in the Gym, therefore your makeup will turn smudge.

I never ever wear makeup to the Gym. Makeup+ bacteria = pimples.

I always wonder. What do you guys think, why do they wear makeup to the gym?

Lol this. Then get angry if guys give them attention. I personally never hit on women at the gym, its kinda like my temple. I could see hitting on women if I start taking yoga though.

Most of the time, I'll go in the afternoon. Everyday is different because my lectures/seminars always changes. Anytime between 12PM-8PM :biggrin:
Everytime I go to the Gym, there is always someone wearing makeup.

I don't find that to be true at all. There are always a few but they never really come back. There are just as many useless guys at the gym.

I'm sure there are multiple explanations for the make-up. The top two that spring to mind for me are:

1) As you've said, it just helps them to feel more comfortable; and let's be honest, guys at the gym can be serious creepsters, so you KNOW a handful have no problems with shamelessly staring at the women.

2) They might be coming straight from work and just don't feel like taking it off before working out.

Yeah, its dumb to wear make up at the gym, but lets be honest, it doesn't affect you or anyone around them unless its perfume. That crap should never be worn, and certainly not at the gym where people need to be able to breathe.

i normally go to gym after work , so i don't know if that consider as wear make up or not. normally it just powder and face cream only when i go to work and lip balm . when i go to gym i just remove some face oil on it . it's all i do

I suppose it's just the people that believe whenever they leave the house, they have to have make-up on, or they feel naked.
It's a common female malady, this, where you have to hide yourself behind some facade of artificiality. As bee said, some might be stopping over after work, and still wear their morning's make-up, and just don't bother to remove it.
As you head for the shower after the workout, I doubt make-up residue is going to be too bad for the skin. No worse than wearing it all day, at least.

Also, yoga pants are not the end all be all. Shorts all the way. Good for me, that every Tuesday the girl's volleyball team practices on the adjoining field. Well, good for looking, not good for my attention

taking off makeup is a process so if they are coming from work or school or whatever its already on. Also even when they aren't wearing makeup they almost always still have on some eyeliner

My wife doesn't but I do notice during the hours I work out (after work), it is because they already have it on and don't bother to take it off. My wife hates the feeling so she scrubs before she works out. Taking off makeup is actually a pretty lengthy process for something seeminly so simple.

That was just one proposed reason; there are of course others in this thread, and others still that I'm sure haven't been mentioned.

In the end, like you said, it's just something not worth worrying about. If it doesn't affect your workout, who cares.

I dont mind the makeup, its the perfume that they need to stop with. When I can smell you before you get into the gym, you are using to much.

There is this hot girl at Muay Thai that wears black makeup everyday. It always starts running as soon as she starts sweating. It sorta looks sexy, like she is all disheveled looking. I'm usually staring at her ass though anyway. Kinda sexy to me but I'm weird.
